For one thing the starters never prepared for the back ups so they did not know how they play.

I think we just turned it down a notch when the 2nd string came in

agree with you adn it dindt seem miami cared all taht much after the 2nd stringers felt liek they werent into the got to win to make the playoffs type of attitude. either that or they just suck cuz that was pathetci play vs 2nd stringers.

The game was a farce at that point. The Patriots should be ashamed of themselves for not giving 100% when they had something (playoff seeding) on the line.

Seeding means nothing compared to them losing Brady for the playoffs because the NFL sack leading Dolphin pass rush broke him in half. :D

The Patriots 2nd stringers just played very well. Even Zach said after the game that they still have alot of work to do seeing as the struggled against New England's 2nd string guys.

Maybe they'll feel differently about that if the Jaguars show up next week and feed them their teeth.

That's what I'm rooting for. What the Patriots did was a disgrace. Resting starters when there is nothing at stake and you're not screwing things up for another team is one thing, but the Bengals and Patriots both seriously pissed me off this week. I hate that too -- I actually like the Bengals.

You gotta also realize this is new england, a team made of interchangable parts. They have a system and players that fit perfectly for it, (backups and starters) How do you think they won the superbowl last year with half their secondary injured? Depth, depth, more depth, and great coaching.

PS- Also alot of the second stringers were playing their hearts out to prove they deserve a spot on the roster next year.

Everyone says the Pats had nothing to play for and rested their starters BUT, we had little to play for too since we were out of the playoffs.....but a Win is a Win so we owned you Patsie fans!!!!!! We should have won both games against the Pats.

a disgrace? teams do it every year. it's SMART

I'm suprised

NE kept their starters in for as long as they did. This game for the most part was meaningless to them and health is far more important than jockeying to play Pit vs Jax in the playoffss.

This was their bye week.

Guys, 380 yards to 259 and TOP was 40 - 20 in favor of Miami. Also 25 first downs to 16. I think the soft zone at the end of the game attributed it to being close.

Also, we're being too hard on our guys. It's tough to win in NE at the end of the season regardless of who is out there. I can remember a couple of games that would prove this. One year we had the division title on the line and the Pats were finishing up a dreadful season. They had Jeff Carlson at QB and a guy named Scott lackwood or something had over 100 yards rushing against us. It took OT to beat them.

Also in 2000, we had a divsion title on the line and it took a last minute field goal to beat them. Look at last year in miami. this is a tough series regardless.

A win is a win. Let's improve in the offseason and give them hell next year. The 2005 version of the Miami Dolphins is over. Onto newer and better results!
