1) If we win, that puts us at 3-0 against our division opponents and winning against them is critical to winning the division. It would almost assure us of going 4-2 in the division (with the Jets playing down here), with a shot at going 5-1.
2) It would also give us a two game lead (in loss column) over the rest of the division.
3) Conference wins are also critical when it comes to breaking ties outside the division. And, if we want a real shot at a wild-card, we need to try to keep pace with Indy and KC.
4) If we lose, it puts us at 2-1 in the division with two away games in December. That makes December look that much more vicious and makes going 4-2 very iffy.
If we can get Seau back at full speed and our D goes animal like it did against Buffalo - we can shut their offense down. They are not a great running team.
Wannstedt then needs to light a fire under the offense. First, the OL needs to rise to the occasion. They need to be challenged by him. Jay needs to be told that he must make plays (i.e., hit the open WR for the sure TD!) and not turn the ball over. New England won today entirely on TO's (while getting their butts handed to them in every other phase).
