Was thinking about why we were going play action at the end of the game Monday... every down, when we obviously werent running. On another topic briefly, I realize we ran the ball on 3rd and 6 setting up a "better" long fg and giving Peyton a ton of time to beat us, so just maybe we'd do it again. But seriously, at the end of the game, every play (almost) was play action... doesnt make any sense? Does Chad really telegraph that much out of the shotgun that we have to hide his eyes? Seems like the most logical explanation to me... theres no way we cant run the 2 min offense or hand-signal in a real play there, right? And btw.. nobody was really on the move when it came to running back to the line. Watching Chad very slowly run the 2 min drill clapping his hands reminded me an awful lot like culpepper running his fingers together... So disappointed with Monday, but fact is, Chad can win games like that, but will never win us a superbowl. Id rather have 3 wins and see progress from Henne (or see that he isnt the guy with a qb heavy class coming out), than another one and out playoff season... and i know, that aint happenin either. F*CK I wish we got Brees when we coulda!!!

Ya, the play action struck me as kind of odd... But we were stupid enough to run on back to back plays deep in our own territory to start out the drive. So I suppose the Colts still had to honor the fact that these Dolphins might just be crazy enough to hand it off again.

I guess it was because the first two plays showed Indy that we were crazy enough to run in that situation, and the play action could buy us a step.

With 3:13 left in the game we got the ball back with what I thought was plenty of time. I was expecting some trickery out of the wildcat. Something like that hand off to ricky, toss back to Pennington, hit a wide open Cobbs.

Seemed like we ran the same offense all game on passing downs. The playaction was pointless late in the game.

I honestly feel we NEED to see how Henne does this year because like someone else said if he's not our QB of the future we need to make the right choice in April.

emmitt smith could've ran that last drive better on his first day of practice, at high school.

My question is will we ever see a Dolphin QB that is actually willing to attempt to sell the play action?

Dan was half-assed about selling it because he knew his arm could make up for it and he probably didn't want to be bothered with trying to sell it; Chad was half-assed about it Monday night, barely attempting to sell it at all...particularly on the last drive.

If my memory serves me, Jay Fiedler actually did a pretty decent job of selling the play action...Too bad he was lacking in numerous other areas.

i just read that penny had an 2 play option.run or pass letting chad read the defense, and make the call.he choose the running play,we got 3 yards and kicked 3.the call was made by penny not the coachs.it is what it is.

My reaction to the constant play action was that it was a timing thing.
It seemed as though the offense flowed really well with the timing of the routes and delivery of the ball.

Our gameplan was also clearly run the ball all game, so practice probably included a lot of playaction last week. Timing may have been established.

Plus for most of the game it was wroking, very well. Don't fix something thats not broken.

Pennington sells the play action better than any QB I've seen play for Miami.
