For all those saying that we need to draft chris long soley on the premise of filling the void of JTs pass rushing, i just want to remind you all that this isnt the last draft we will ever have. Ok if JT plays this year and maybe next, we do not need to replace him now... we still have him... its not like its the QB we are talking about here, where they need time to develop.. its DE/OLB... Plenty of players suceed at the position within their first or second year. That being said, if JT plays with us this year, we can always fill the void in next years draft.. we will prob (hope not) have good draft position, and will likely be able to land a derek harvey type player.. not to mention we still have q.moses.. personally i like the guy... how do you feel about all this?

Get rid of him, and get some value now. The Dolphins failed to capitalize on JT's trade value last offseason, the team can't afford to screw the pooch again with this.

Although i really dont want to trade him (only reason i would is so he can win a superbowl).. that isnt what im saying.. im saying that if he is goin to stay we dont need to draft his replacement now

What would have been the point of getting rid of the NFL DPOY in a Top 5 ranked defense?

What ever happened to loyalty? What ever happened to wanting a player to play his entire career with one team? If JT wants to be here and continue to perform at a Pro Bowl level, what's the point in getting rid of him?

I'm not worried about loyalty, it's sports, but unless were getting a great deal I'd rather keep. Were set at OLB and can draft a OLB prospect later to learn from him.

Perfectly said, I couldn't agree more. Thats why we draft Jake Long now because we dont even have a full starting line.

why does everyone want JT to teach our young OLB when he is wayyyy better DE than OLB..?

let's just put an end to all of the trade talk.

barring a blockbuster deal on the day of the draft, I don't think he is going anywhere.
I'm not sure we could get enough value for him anyhow. He may be the one guy who is more valuable on the team, than off. Just my humble opinion.

He won the DPOY award playing all over I'm pretty sure a WR could learn something from him.

I understand that.. But he has played DE for like 90% of his carrer.. I know you can just flat out learn football from a guy like him but If it was that easy i think matt roth would be able to get past a tackle

great post. I totally agree loyalty is why we love sports. I know it is a business now, but loyalty is what i grew up with. Marino for 17 years. Duper and Clayton, THe players that are the Miami Dolphins. JT is in that category. we should kep him no matter what. Loyalty is why i love sports. What's the point if you think that it is just a business?

We will never be able to recoup a 2nd and a 5th for JT again. He could stay with the team and perform well but we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Besides we can draft his replacement with one of the many picks we have on the first day. I don't want to see him leave but he is worth more to us a tradeable asset.

Why ask a question you already know the answer to? Or have you missed the several hundred debates on this topic this offseason. A draft pick that will play for 10-15 years vs a pass rusher that will play 3 years tops, not to mention said pass rusher's patience with the team seems to be wearing thin and it shows on the field.

I will always be a fan of Jason, but my loyalty to the Dolphins team trumps my loyalty to an individual. So I ask myself what's best for the Dolphins, and that is to get some value for JT now before it's too late.

This team isn't so bad, as some people think. We could have a run this year, but the only way we can is if Taylor is here. I mean think guys.

- If Beck plays well we can win games
- Ronnie, Booker, and Ricky could easilly carry the offense for most of the year
- Our line has vastly imroved since last year, and look at what Ronnie did behind last years line
- Torbor, Starks, Fergason, were all huge additons to our new 3-4 D.
- Our DB's are getting better.
- Feeley can win us any game when we need him too
- Ted Ginn can change games in the return game

Maybe I'm just a homer, but every year I think were going to the Super Bowl, and that's what I want every player, fan, coach, waterboy, groundkeeper, anyone to think.

THIS IS DOLPHINS FOOTBALL!!!!

WINNING IS A TRADITION, A WAY OF LIFE!
