Why Ryan Cook vs....

Hey guys. Im Dave. Friendly Vikings fan here. Anyways, I registered here just to talk to you about Ryan Cook. I'm really sorry for you guys. He is my least favorite Vikings player of all time. If you think Columbo is a turnstile, you will really get sick of Cook quickly. You guys have better depth than us at OL, and he still didn't survive. Not even after a 2 year contract. He really isn't versatile. That's the biggest myth I've ever heard. They say that because we played him at Center, Guard, and Tackle. He started at all 3 positions for us. And was by far the worst starting lineman in the entire NFL. He's awful at all 3. I hope you aren't planning on starting him at any point, because he will get your players hurt. Bottom line, he is a liability. I'm not saying this to troll. I really respect the Dolphins team and it's fans. If you guys have any questions about him, I would be more than glad to answer them for you. I've seen every single game that this guy has ever played in at the professional level.

So let me get this straight. Young is horrible, you have watched every game and you go out of your way to comment on a Dolphins board on how bad he was there ? LMAO, dude, your entire offensive line is bad, has been for quite sometime. Take away AP and now that Farve has been stuffed and put on the shelf you guys can go back to where your proper place, doormat in the NFC. Honest, you are the first person I have heard of that went out of his way to answer questions on an Olineman that in your opinion, is the worst in the NFL ? So, which also ran backup Olineman or rookie Olineman on Minn are you related to ?

I think u meant Cook. Not to take up for anyone but every account I have read on Cook is pretty below average. They gave this guy a ton of chances and he was not good any year and just continually losing his position to another player. Not sure he is an upgrade to Joe Berger.

He was not brought into the Phins to start and unlike Berger, he does not require a 700 K roster bonus because he is on the roster come game week. Never said he was the best, neither was berger but berger could not play anything but C. For whqt this kid cost it was good money spent. Much better then throwing away Bergers salary plus the 700K. Lots people do not know about things. If Pouncey gets hurt they will insert Incognito at center, not this kid.Yeah I meant Cook, Young went to Buffalo.

Outside of O'Harra, mostly because no one wanted him, Waters, Gurode and McKinnie wanted big bucks and pushed to be starters. Add to that, they had no interest at their age, to run around in the heat and unbearable humidity. Given a choice, players will pick someplace else to end their career instead of the Jungle like atmosphere of S. Florida.

Was that english? Having trouble deciphering it. Why so much anger towards the Vikings? Different conference. Hardly ever play each other. As for the O-line, yes it is awful. Worse than yours. And this guy that we are referring to, was a 3rd stringer at best on it. And as for the "Take away AP" comment, LOL. Take away Jake Long from the Dolphins and see what happens. Or take away Chris Johnson from the Titans and see what happens. Take away the teams best player, and they would probably be much worse. You're right about that lol. Like I said 200 times, I am a Dolphins supporter, who just so happens to be a die-hard Vikings fan. Finally had something worth posting, since I have obviously seen more Ryan Cook games than you guys have. I'm sorry if my honestly upset you. I'll let you form your own opinion on him. Judging from what I've heard, he is going to get quite a bit of playing time for you guys this year.

No anger towards the Vikings other then I think you guys suk and have always sukked. Lets take your signature for example, Jared Allen. now the most overated underperforming DE around, well amongst the most underperforming. Glad you get to cover his payroll vs us. Glad you saw more Ryan Cook games then I, good for you. The guy is a professional backup, thats it. Two reason he is here, Cheap and can play three inside postions, if needed. As I said, Berger could ALMOST play one position, center plus a huge bonus for just making the roster. Not worth it.

Enjoy your teams lackluster season along with your lackluster coach along with perhaps one of the worst stadium situations in the NFL.

We are taking the opinion of someone who has actually watched the player in question. So far, his opinion is probably more true then false because Ryan Cook was cut from his team. There is a reason for that. This poster came onto this board to warn us about that reason.

This isn't "a random person walking into your home to bad mouth your family", its more "taking an informed opinion into consideration". And i haven't seen MulletMullitia say anything bad about the Dolphins. In fact, he has praised our team and our fanbase multiple times.
If the Vikings had signed Channing Crowder and we jumped onto their board to warm them about how he never makes a play, would that be bashing the team? Certainly not.

Just goes to show the homer attitude on this forum that rears up: say anything critical about any player this front office signs and you are suddenly you are not a fan and you are bashing this team and don't know what you are talking about anyways....even when your post contains knowledgable information.

What is wrong with being a homer? I have loved the Fins ever since I saw them beat the Bengals and Ken Anderson in the Orange Bowl when I was a kid. So what is wrong with homer-ism I ask you? Does that mean I can't see the flaws? No it doesn't. What is does mean is that I am not whining like a woman every time they don't do what I think they should do. Let me ask you? Do men whine all the time and then turn it around and say who me? Do they point the finger of blame at others and say, "Wow Dude your a Homer." Women do that? Think about it. Enough said. Way to much whining around here.

Since coming to Minnesota, Jared Allen has more sacks than anybody in the NFL. By a lot. Look it up. And Leslie Frazier is a lackluster coach? Not at all. Lol. I think your posts "suk".

Interesting, i went to a few different message boards about Ryan Cook. Most of the comments were not positive.

please explain...you mean what you've heard on here or some other source???

You are correct sir. I think Ryan Cook got butt-hurt and made an account here to stick up for himself. Nothing that guy said was accurate AT ALL. The guy that beat him out for back-up guard got cut as well. He is now on our practice team (Chris DeGeare). Ryan Cook was the worst run blocker on our team. He never opened up anything for Adrian Peterson. If anyone did, it was Herrera. Herrera can actually pull. I don't think Cook even knows that term. He is dumber than a box of rocks. He complained that Brad Childress's playbook was too complex for blocking schemes. He isn't smart or hard-working as the guy above me posted. He is fat, lazy, and stupid. He couldn't beat out practice team guards, let alone our starter.

oh ****...i don't like reading that...thats exactly what we need...a guy who can hold his own against strength in short yardage and goalline scenarios and keep teams interior dline from penetrating 2 yards into our backfield... if you had to start him where would you start him position wise and why??? we may have no choice...this oline starting unit is a disaster waiting to happen as it stands right now...we got to make some changes

I read that he was going to be the first guard in rotation from the starters. I believe it was a Miami beat writer. I got the link to the article from here. I personally don't believe he is a good run blocker OR pass blocker. If I had to put him in anywhere, it would be back-up center. As for guard and tackle, he isn't even serviceable. He is a total liability.

is it possible he just didn't fit your what i would assume with ap and that size on your oline was a power downhill running scheme and he may just be better suited for a spread type offense??? what kind of athlete is this guy??? does he have good feet??? whats his biggest weakness in your opinion??? i know i'm asking a lot of questions but i'm pretty in the dark on him as a player which is rare given how much i watch the league as a whole etc...i pretty much have to take other peoples word for it til i get to see him in action for myself

and when you say he's bad we talkin pat mcquistan bad???

Well, as for his biggest weakness, it would definitely be his feet. He is the slowest player in the NFL. With fellow Vikes fans, he has earned the nickname "Concrete Feet". I say he is a liability because he always seems to be totally whiffing his man. When he misses, he misses badly. I was always worried he was going to get somebody hurt. I wouldn't sign him to my practice squad for the league minimum. I don't think it was scheme. I just think he was reached for in the draft, and never really had an NFL skill set. Not even as a back-up. At any position. Along with slow feet, he is VERY penalty prone. That part especially drove all Vikings fans nuts. I was very happy when we signed Charlie Johnson, because I thought that would mean that Cook was done as a Viking. We ended up re-signing Cook anyways to a 2 year deal. That upset me to a great degree. I couldn't believe we gave him another contract. Then we ended up cutting him 2 weeks later. Our coaches never said why, but it's a myth that it wasn't because of bad play. You wouldn't pay a guy, and then release him for any other reason than bad play. He also looked even more out of shape than usual in preseason. Another myth from the guy above me praising him. He looked just as bad as he normally does in preseason. And got his usual penalties in preseason as well. I really hope he never makes it onto the field for you guys, but I don't think that's going to happen.

The Vikings just brought in Joe Berger for a visit. We may have just done a trade for our ****tiest lineman lol.
