Something Nick said after the game really worries me a bit. I will paraphrase this. He was remarking about how well Joey ran the 2 minute, no huddle what ever you want to call it... Saban said that Joey ran the offense so well at the end that maybe we should do that sooner in games. YOU THINK NICK! Really? Well Albert "Freakin" Einstein! How about the Daunte situation. All of us pretty much in here thought that it was way too soon to put in Daunte in the begining of the season. Week after week we all called the local sports stations to complain and whine. And many of you in here would retort with "we needed to shut up up about Nick becuase he was the coach and he knew what he was doing." But after he put Joey in what was he talking about?....."Maybe we should have made this move sooner." "YOU THINK NICK? REALLY"

Its one thing if you are like Wanny was and the more we all complained the more firm he stood his ground. That at least proved that he was going with his choice that he thought would work even if it killed him. It still made him a Moron but he wasnt wishy washy in that respect. It scares me when a coach looks like a Deer in the headlights. Or when he doesnt know when to throw the red flag or when he is afraid to call plays that will actually advance the principal of "Winning." And here is the last and most glaring question I have. Why would a coach hire to assistant coaches that have been nothing but failures their entire coaching carrer. Why? I could go on but no one willl read it. I posted this comment a few weeks ago and got reemed...."Smells like Spurrier to me.

The HypnoToad proclaims that the Jets were docile until late in the third! Thus there was no reason to go to the more risky no-huddle all out pass. Also prevent defenses are easy to throw on...so says the HypnoToad!

That is true toad. And furthermore....... Our D really is pretty solid. They held to 6 points forever. Sure they gave upa big play but Geese, the Offense has to put points on the board to prevent that. You get tired when you are on the field all day long.

I agree that many of his moves this year backfired but I think its encouraging that he is willing to say that he made a mistake. Wannstedt never did that and it prevented him from being a good coach. My gripe with Saban is he doesnt do it quick enough but with all the pressures and him being relatively new to the job and the amaount of stuff he still needs to fix I think he's allowed some leeway. It all depends on what he gains from this experience. It could really help him down the road if he learns that he cant just blindly rely on his assistants and must step in when they arent doing the job. Same with the players. The season is too short to wait patiently for players to show improvement. At the beginning of the season you need quick hooks when people underperform. Mularkey is killing the team this year and I'm at the point where I dont see anything short of him getting let go as being the solution. Saban wont do that this year but he better when the season is over

He said the EXACT same thing against Houston two weeks ago about the 2 minute drill.

What Saban was referring to was maybe they should go to the no huddle earlier in the games, NOT that he should have gone to Joey sooner in the season. If you're not smart enough to know the diffeerence, why should we even read your posts about how stupid Saban is?

He's a good coach, he's taking his lumps right now, about the equivalent of a rookie players adjusting. He made a mistake by not tearing the team down and starting over last year. Hopefully he'll realize this and then I think they begin to head down the right track.

Saban is due for some criticism. That is without a doubt the truth, but hindsight is 20/20 and I don't know what bard you were loking at, but this board sure as hell was exstatic about DC starting the season.

The biggest difference from last year?? Linehan, Ricky and Frerotte.

Now if Joey had been starting from day one there's little doubt in my mind that we'd have beaten Pitt, Buff. and Texas.
