Not to harp on the negative, but I was curious and wanted to get everyones opinions on why the Saints are playing so well and we obviously are not?

Our excuse continues to be that we have all these new players and they have to gel. Watching some of the MNF game tonight, they said the Saints have something like 13 new starters playing this season. I can't stop wondering why they are playing so well already with all the new faces, and we can't get anything going? I don't think their skill positions are that much better than ours, if at all.

What do you all think?

maybe their oline is better? but having reggie bush and duce mccallister is a big help

I think a big part of their success is they are driven with emotion. We don't seem to be displaying any. If we had played a decent team Sunday instead of the horrible Titans, we would be 0-3 now. We should be 1 year ahead of the Saints (we had #2 pick in 2005, they did in 2006, we had new coach in 2005, they have one in 2006). Right now, we are way behind them.

I think it could be the fan/media expectations, and because of that, the pressure; nobody expected too much from the saints, so they aren't playing under a lot of pressure... but the dolphins started the season with a lot of pressure (and a little overconfidence IMO), cuz a lot of people (including myself) thought we could be superbowl contenders

maybe it's because their qb can read a defense, go through route progressions and look downfield and not at the pass rush. i dunno. just a guess...

The only thing that really bothered me while watching this game was seeing yet another rookie safety play lights out while ours plays left bench.

just say it...'dey' picked the right number...(#9, not #8) -period-

so what your are saying is that if we picked brees over daunte, our offensive line problems, offensive playcalling problems, secondary problems and any of the team evident problems would be fixed??? :shakeno:

I won't spend a warning on you, but........ :shakeno:

The Saints are playing like a team on a mission right now.

Plus, even though I didn't believe it earlier, at this point you pretty much have to admit that on the offensive side of the ball they are superior to us. QB, RB, WR, O-Line...I don't see how you can plausibly argue that as of right now, they are not the better unit.

On defense, their LB corps is much improved over last year and their secondary, while able to be torched, has shown a knack for coming up with timely plays.

So the difference in records is a direct reflection of the fact that, after week 3, they are the better team (IMHO).

However, their schedule is going to get (much) tougher, while ours remains relatively easy so in the end, assuming we wake up, we might rack up more wins by the end of the season. But that doesn't change the fact that their rebuilding project is going smoothly while ours has a few bumps that we have to ride out.

But we will.

They are playing well the main thing is look at how the OL is blocking they get into a rythym and there D# is just playing solid text book D#. If we got into a rythym we would be winning to. Ibeleaive we are headed to that direction.

I love how everyone keeps citing our "easy" schedule as a reason for optimism.

We're 1-2, have a horrible offensive line, an underperforming QB, a TE that just disappears, and a weak secondary. Our offense is anemic and our playcalling leaves a lot to be desired.

We are the "easy" schedule. Other teams are circling the Dolphins game on their calendars and pencilling in a W. This team hasn't proven it can dispatch anyone easily (see the Tennessee game for proof of that).

Wooooow! Another dolphins suck thread! Wooooow! So original.

Guess what! We still won the game and there is nothing you guys can do to change that so deal with it.
