Everyone on this board seems to pencil him in as a starter and playmaker in our defense. i have even seen it mentioned that it is believed by some he will turn out to be better than sam or pat, those imo are some pretty big words. coming off a knee injury, and not having much playing time beforehand, what makes everyone think he is part of the solution to our cornerback woes?

he was great corner at USC. Should of gone in 1st rd but because of legal trouble was pick up in the 3rd. Was great in training camp but just got the injury bug. I think he can be a good corner. We'll just have to wait and see

Because he was a 1st round talent that fell to us in the 4th round. In the limited time he played before getting hurt, he showed starting LCB potential. It also didn't hurt that he was learning from Surtain and Madison.

He showed a lot of good attributes before getting injured. Looked as if he would be very good so everyone got hyped about it. And now we are all waiting to see.

Cannot be counted on at this point....too many injuries. Will get a long look, as will S. Mitchell....gotta keep your fingers crossed on both.

The problem is hes had a big injury and he didnt crack the starting job at CB. That was unlikely with Surtain still being around with Madison but there was alot of ppl saying Poole will be a good replacement. He hafd a good pre season and he has a head for the ball and can cause turnovers which all point to success. If his injury clears up then he can continue what he started. Starting position is a major step up for me considering the kid is coming off injury and the fact he never had the starting position in the first place. Im hoping he cracks it and proves the faith showed in him but im still uncertain.

Madison had some very encouraging comments about poole, im optimistic about he's potential.(boomer our draft guru was a big fan of his coming out of usc)

I'm still wondering the opposite. Why is everyone seeming to count him out ? The guy showed us he can play.

They are just overly optimistic about Poole. Dont blow their high about him, its good to see peeps excited about our players even if its for no reason.

Not many players would have started in a lineup that included Madison, and Surtain. I just don't get the negativity surrounding him.

Nothings for sure but he's shown flashes of being able to do the job. If he returns to full health he'll compete to start. All Dolphin fans are hopeful that he can replace Madison without much dropoff. Oue defensive backfield needs alot of help and Poole coming back to form would be a big help.

I dont honestly believe that there is negativity surrounding Will. I'm more to believe that ppl are expecting good things from Poole. Im just hoping he lives up to the hype and can deliver. Its a more "unknown" thing surrounding Poole knowing he has one season under his belt and weve lost over the last 2 seasons the best CB tandem in the NFL.

The thing I liked about him the most when he played in 2004 was that he played physical and could tackle well. He also forced some fumbles as I recall. He brought different attributes than what Surtain and Madison had.

Let's hope Will and Travis can become the next Pat and Sam.

Because he was pretty effective his rookie year and seemed to never get beaten.. also, have you heard Jason Taylor talkin about this kid? Jason said he's simply "a playmaker"... Jason said the other day on 790, that watching the kid in practice is unreal and eye opening.. I think i'll take Jason's word for it. I"m excited to get Poole back..
