I know it ended up not mattering because Ronnie eventually had 20+ carries by the end of the game but we completely ignored him in the first half.

His first touch came with 8:07 left in the first quarter and then he didn't touch the ball again until 12:14 in the 2nd quarter. That is ridiculous. For some reason we would either pass or hand off to Ricky.

Ricky had 10 touches to Ronnie's 5 in the first half, which is backwards at least in my opinion. I actually thought Ronnie was hurt because he wasn't out on the field. Was anyone else wondering where Ronnie was?

I noticed the same thing. But after watching the whole game, I thought that maybe the coaching staff's plan was to wear the defense out with Ricky Williams and then have Ronnie Brown tear them apart eventually. If so, it worked to perfection.

maybe it was to get the D chasing around a faster Williams, when they got tired. Sending in the human bowling ball to run over everyone. Hey it worked. I'm not complaining.

Shouldn't it be the other way around though? You put in Ronnie to knock around the defense and then you put in the fast guy.

Yeah Ricky is a very fast and physical runner...ronnie is strong but ricky beats up on defenders....he is a great guy to start off punishing teams and hen put ronnie in to finish them off...

and no offense to ronnie but ricky has better field vision always has ricky has some of the greatest field vision in NFL history.....his vision and physical talent allows us to establish a running game early where ronnie would get 3 or 4 ricky gets 7 or 8 not alot more but enough to start making D's adjust...

i think they should use ricky early to help establish the running game and supplement with ronnie later once the are tired and his ability can just dominate teams.

There is no way that our best offensive player should only touch the ball twice in the first 22 minutes of the game though.

Does it really matter? Thats the beauty of having Ricky and Ronnie. They are interchangeable without a drop off in talent. Lets enjoy it while Ricky still has legs, lets enjoy the ride while it lasts. I do wish Ricky was younger, would have been nice to see them two together over the next few years while they are both peaking in their careers.

I loved seeing Rickey plow thru the D, softening up things for later. Seemed to me it worked pretty well.

I can agree with the field vision thing but Ronnie is a MUCH more punishing RB. Re-watch the game, or any game this season and tell me who lays the smack on defenders and who's tougher to bring down. Even if you don't remember I'm sure we've all seen the many times that Ronnie just blew up a guy that was in his way and a few of those times it was on the goal line. Ricky is a very good back still but he goes down way easier than Mr. Brown.

hey idc together they have given us the #1 rushing offense in the NFL and its more then just out of the wildcat we have been running well out of the conventional set offense. with a nice mix of reverses to Ginn and Cobbs for good measure it has been very effective.

on the flip side we are clearly missing a playmaker at wideout, ginn was used less at WR yesterday so he could be used on returns to maximize field position which is great. but we lack a deep threat and Fasano has been flat out disappointing

Maybe by using all three backs we wont pull a Wrongstadt (400+ carries for RW) and wear out our feature back of the future. Yes we could beat defenses to death just using Ronnie, but why when you can spread the load and beat on the D with both,(or all 3) keeping both relatively fresh and maybe healthier.

yes, there are even multiple defenders in the league who say Ronnie is one of the most punishing backs in the NFL to face...

either way both guys are productive, Ronnie should be getting it more but sometimes situations apply who gets it, they are sometimes rotating drives, etc... either way they know Ronnie needs to get the bulk and majority of games he will have more carries than Ricky
