While we are all proud of this Miami team in 2016, and while we all expect an improved roster next year and a team that benefits from being in year 2 of the Gase regime, I'm somewhat confused by all the hand wringing I'm seeing about next years schedule.

We went 4-2 in our division this year. Why can't we replicate that next year? Hell, why can't we split with NE next year? Can we not go win in Carolina? San Diego? Baltimore is traditionally a hard match up for us but is it crazy to think Miami might be flat out better than Baltimore next season? Hell, aside from NE, I wouldn't be surprised to see Miami favored in 7 of their 8 home games. There are some mighty tough road games looming @NE, @Atl and @KC but I would not be surprised to see Miami steal one of those.

Obviously it's too early in the offseason to see how everybody's roster is going to shake out (including ours), but as of right now I can see 6-and-2 at home and 5-and-3 on the road. Maybe I'm the crazy one but it just doesn't seem as daunting as many are making it out to be.

I agree, we just never know how mucher better or worse teams are going to be from year to year.

Agree. We said the same thing last year and a lot of teams on our schedule did a lot worse than expected this year. We almost beat Seattle, the Jets turned out to be terrible, the Bills and Chargers were supposed to be good, thought the Cardinals were going to win it this year. Injuries happen, teams underperform. IDK, maybe Brady decides to retire after he wins the Super Bowl this year. Ahhh, wouldn't that be nice...who am I kidding, Garroppolo will be the next star in nE...just excited we had a good season and have some hope again! Take it 1 game at a time.

I did forget to mention Oakland. That probably means 2 games at home in which Miami is the underdog.

Much tougher schedule than this year. No dumpster fire teams on that list outside of the division like we had this year in cleveland and san fran which were definitely going to be terrible. That schedule is brutal. We'll most likely have to win the division.

Does it appear to be a harder schedule than last year? Absolutely. Does it deserve the title of "brutal"? Not even close.

I don't know what would be worse. Maybe the NFC East instead, but maybe not if Carolina returns to form. The AFC West is certainly the toughest division in the AFC. Luckily we have the Jets who are just going down the tubes.

Hopefully we won't have one of the worst D's in the league, so that should help.

And our offense should be as good, if not better, than it was this year.

We'll face tough competition but we should be a better team than the 2016 version. Unless we really **** things up in the offseason.

Go back and look at the teams we played this year, and remember how they were predicted to perform this year. Buffalo, Cardinals, Rams, Chargers...all were supposed to be much better than us. AND we beat Pittsburg.

Point is, you never know how good a team is going to be until the season starts.

That's why I strictly mentioned the Browns and niners. They were supposed to be garbage and are. There's no one outside the jets that will be at near that level of garbage on next years schedule.

Count me in as skeptical that Oakland is guaranteed to have the same kind of success next year. They are a 12-4 team that only outscored their opponents by 31 points and gave up 24 points per game.

I believe that every one of those teams now sees us as a tough game also. I don't believe we're an easy-out for anybody anymore. Next year should be fun.

I see a possibility of a record with the schedule the way it is next year somewhere between 9-7 and 13-3, depending on how the draft shakes out. If Tannebaum handcuffs Gase, he could really mess things up for us. I hope Gase has large say in every player we decide to pick or sign. If that's the case, I see at least a 12 Win season with a top 10 defense and top 5 offense. I expect Tannehill to take his biggest leap so far, especially if the O line stays healthy and perhaps replace a player or two.

The funny thing is for a lot of these teams Miami on their schedule is now a toss up, not a gimme.
