Hours after another disappointing loss and the surprise announcement by Adam Gase that he’s sticking with Ryan Tannehill as his quarterback the rest of the season, the Dolphins brain trust gathered last Sunday evening at the team’s Davie training facility, 16 miles or so north of Hard Rock Stadium, and tried to make sure the coach’s decision was the right one.

Gase, sometimes alone and sometimes in the company of assistants, pored over the tape of the 30-17 loss to Tennessee.

And, according to people familiar with the organization’s thinking, although that study led the coach to want to cut a couple of offensive linemen, it had the exact opposite effect on the way he and the Dolphins view Tannehill.

Gase, one-on-one with Tannehill and during tape sessions in front of other players last week, lit the quarterback up with criticism.

Don't agree with the Dolphins on Tannehill. In some cases, he may have Marino type stats, but he doesn't have Marino type wins. The lack of intangibles that matter will prevent Tannehill from ever being more than just an average QB.

I don't have much hope, but it's pointless to replace him with Moore, so we're just going to have to ride it out.

Whether he is the answer or not, this is a good article.

This could get interesting. Because the team as a whole is this bad, it's in the best interest of the front office to convince Ross the problem lies in the qb only instead of a severe lack of talent across the board.

Which is why you keep starting him. Plugging in Matt Moore might be cathartic for some of fans but its also hideously shortsighted.

Either he somehow turns it around or we keep losing and are in position to draft a quarterback. In both scenarios, Ryan Tannehill is our best chance for a franchise quarterback. Play the long game.

As for the article, the fact that so many players on our offense make that many mistakes doesn't exactly fill me with confidence about our coaches. Perhaps we shouldn't have let Foerster get his hands on our members and attempt to beat bad habits out of them. As a coach hes clearly spent.

This article basically pinpoints the Jekyll and Hyde QB that is Ryan Tannehill. It's why he is so devisive on this board.

I am losing faith in Gase if he actually believes this. I'm hoping it is like Hillarys tell the public one thing and private donors another.

Broken record. Not rocket science. Brady and the rest are atrocious when their OL cannot block 4 man rushes. Tannehill has one of the lowest average times holding the ball. Our blocking sucks ... again. Find an offensive line. If we don't, no QB is going to succeed, least of all some rookie trying to replace Tannehill. I'm truly surprised Tannehill isn't shell-shocked after having one of the worst OL in football every year of his career. Dude is really a tough hombre. Physically, mentally, and psychologically.

In the offseason get rid of James, Pouncey and Albert. They can't stay healthy, are overpaid, and not getting the job done. Keep Tunsil and Steen. Draft a couple of young OL, and bring a couple more in from FA, get a better OL coach, and re-set this thing with durable technicians, no matter how you need to do it.

The worst O-line Marino ever played behind was better than the best that Tannehill has played behind.

short answer; they see enough in Ryan Tannehill to give him a shot to work out of this funk and if not they're content taking the top 5 pick

Moore is pointless when the playoffs are out the door.

The other idea is to see what Doughty has.....but I would wait a bit longer before even contemplating that.

Fact is...until you have at least an average O-line in front of him...
Its not a fair situation.

What I would do is ride with Tannehill and see what happens....if he gets hurt I would Give Doughty some experience and have some tape to consider for next season.

Its so depressing for everything to be over so early.
