I've been reading these forums for a long time and I've recently decided to sign up and start posting/ making threads.
I know I may get bashed for creating another thread, but I would like to know why everyone is so obsessed with Vick. I know many people here are very opposed to having him on our team, and I know many have fallen in love with him. My question is, those of you who really like Vick, why do you like him? Is it because his brother is a popular quarterback on the falcons and his play is explosive and entertaining? I'm no football genius, but I don't feel that even Micheal is a great qb. He's injured often and it seems as though his backups perform well enough in his absence. Why wouldn't someone prefer a quarterback like Culpepper or Mcnabb who is both fast and accurate vs just having a glorified running back taking snaps. Even someone like Vince Young seems lightyears ahead of Micheal in terms of quarterback/ running back hybrid type players. In my opinion, I'd rather have a quarterback who can throw the ball accurate AND have the ability to run when needed or be elusive in the pocket. I'm just glad we have Culpepper and I don't think Vick is worth the trouble with his off field issues and his lack of true quarterbacking abilities.

Bada bing. Welcome to the forums. Click the link in my signature. It will give you a laugh.

i figured this thread would be just for analyzing why people like vick. there are already 100,000 threads about it but they are all just people rambling on about nothing productive. i don't mind getting bashed, but i'm curious as to why everyone is so obsessed with this guy.

People are obsessed because he is the younger brother of the most overrated QB in the NFL. if his last name wasn't Vick they could care less about him.

actually, many consider Marcus to be a better drop back passer than his brother, at least coming out of college. Marcus is primarily a passer that will run if he has to, where Michael will pull the ball down and take off at the slightest hint of a passrush.

That being said, I do agree with you that even taking his talent into consideration, Marcus Vick will probably be more trouble than he's worth.

Real simple.

I like him becasue he has tools that can help the Phins.

Maybe not at QB, but, perhaps at returner.

The guy has talent and would have been picked in the first 5 rounds
at some point.

I think bringing him in only has upside.

Nick will chop his head off if he can't help this team.

I can agree with that. If he can help us, I'm all for it. I just don't think saban could utilize him as a quarterback. Then again, I really don't think micheal vick is an effective quarterback so, with that said, we'll just leave it to vick to see what happens.

His brother is a three time probowler, going on four, then five!

Because most guys are obsessed with their "Vicks".

well, the probowl has become a popularity contest. i certianly don't deny vick's popularity. i do, however, question his quarterback skills.

i have to disagree, the guy can only runs a 4.4 with poor moves. i doubt he can help much as a returner and we can get a better reciever as a udfa then him.

Tried to have Ball controlled offense number 1, led the league in rushing(2 years)

When your win % is where his is at you can question him or their scheme.

Their Defense was the worst last year, truely pathetic!

It's an upopular way to go.....But, I trust Saban.

I think he'll look at Vick and, make a decision onif he can help and, pull the trigger.

He won't hit on every choice, but, I think it's just Nick feeling out talent.
