MIAMI HERALD's Greg Cote reported that Parcells is intrigued by Pat White's potential in the Wildcat for MIA. He said that Parcells is thinking of using a 3rd or 4th round pick on him.

This not only means that Parcells is going to shop John Beck or finally release the bum, but I like the fact that Parcells realizes that there is no use for a wasted roster space of John Beck on the roster, who was pretty much inactive in all 16 games this season.

I like the fact that Parcells wants to utilize every single roster spot for something useful....

Bring him on. Guy is a winner and can play in different spots for this team. GOOD PICK in 3rd rd.

Yeah Davone Bess was not suppose to be a starting WR or even make the team. I'll take my chances with White out of the Wildcat.

At only 6'0" 192 pounds, Pat White is NOT big enough to be a QB or a RB in the NFL. A WR maybe.

Hmm? Maybe he is going to be drafted in the 4th round for just that, Tedd Ginn Jr's backup and maybe primary KR/PR. THen, he can come in at QB in our Wildcat formation. I guess Beck stays 3rd string QB in that case...

But report is that Parcells would bring him in as 3rd string QB, but then maybe they misunderstood what Parcells meant. Maybe Parcells is looking at that QB but to play WR as we are going to go into 2009 with 4 WRs: Ginn, Camarillo, Bess, and London....so there is a speedster spot open for Ginn's backup, as we have none.

Right now, Camarillo has Bess as his backup, but if Ginn gets injurred London isn't that deep vertical guy that would come in for Ginn...maybe White is that guy?

Anthony Armstrong on the PS is that guy

Question, when has BP been known to be buddy buddy w/ beat writers? Follow up question, when has BP shown professional stupidity to the extent of announcing his draft plans BEFORE the draft?
How do you really feel about Beck lol.

Here's the thing, if we draft/sign bigger & better Olinemen then we will see less and less of Wildcat formations next year. Remember, it only became a staple after the realization that we basically got no push in conventional sets.

I think it would be an okay pick. It would be a luxury pick so I think we will only so this if we have a good free agency period and sure some needs that way. Yeah he is small, but its' not like he will be playing every down. In the Wildcat he could be getting 5-10 plays a game and that's it.

Dude, I know. I understand that not everyone likes Beck, but what's with the need to attack him at every possible opportunity.

Pat White would be a QB in the Wildcat, but his primary position in the NFL would be WR. I love Pat White, the kid is a winner.

Tell Warrick Dunn, Darren Sproles and Brian Westbrook that. btw, this whole Pat White talk is garbage imo. the only reason the Phins ran the Wildcat this year is to mask the lack of talent on offense. Once this team actually gets some talent at wr and beefs up the line, we dont need to play gimmick football.

True on all accounts, but Parcells & Ireland are very consistant in their approach about bigger players, besides when was the last time that Cote correctly guessed a draft pick or anything about football or anything that Parcells is likely to do? :d-day:

This is the deal I'd be happy with ... if you trade Beck whatever you get in return could be used to select P.White.
