Of course Chambers and McMichael are saying they don't want TO because he's a locker room cancer. But I think there are more subtle reasons they don't want him.

McMichael is emerging as a vocal leader on the offense, and Chambers is emerging as a true #1 receiver. TO would do two things: 1) immediately replace McMichael as the "voice" on offense and thereby disintegrate the offensive leadership structure that has been building over the past three years, and 2) immediately take over Chambers's position as the #1 receiver.

Coincidentally, I think both of these things happened when Cris Carter was signed. The offensive leadership structure was disintegrated, and Chambers started wondering just who was the go-to guy.

I think these guys believe they've paid their dues with mediocre QBs and shoddy and conservative offensive systems, and I think they're looking at next year as the time when they'll put it all together. I don't think they want to see TO get in the way of that.

And I think you play with fire by adding very vocal, talented, and outspoken players to a team that's on the verge of establishing true leaders of its own.

TO is not a leader! He is a cancer!
Never said he was a leader. I said in so many words that his voice would immediately compete with McMichael's as the dominant one on offense, which is exactly what happened in Philly with McNabb.

Yeah not a leader but a BIGMOUTH! TO could have his own talk show and he wouldn't need guests!

TO is cancer, TO is this, TO is that..blah blah blah. Will you guys stop it already. TO is GREAT and can play light years ahead of every other receiver in the league. He almost singlehandedly wins games as a WR!

I believe Chamber's and Mcmichael don't want TO on the team because of selfish reasons. Thing is, I believe Chambers and Mcmichael would receive MORE big plays because opposing teams would be keying in on TO. Oh man, what a group of receivers that would be. WOW! Then again, for what TO is gonna cost, it's not worth it. Booker is more than adequate. Besides, we need to concentrate on a QB anyway.

They don't want TO running his mouth, and hurting their "player sensitive" feelings. BOO HOO....

Like a bunch of babies if you ask me...

PHINZ RULE!!!

Tell that to the Eagles and 49ers that are a mess now because of him!

If their selfish reason is wanting to play together as a team then I applaud them. TO will do nothing but destry the team if brought here IMO. He was unhappy when Garcia couldn't get him the ball, and when McNabb couldn't get him the ball. At least gus would maybe headbutt him when he starts complaing PUBLICLY about not getting the ball. Don't want him, Don't need him!!TO is very talented, I don't think anyone will argue that point but he is also the most destructive.

we progressivley took steps forward with the offensive chemistry of the team we want to keep that together and keep moving forward, we dont want to take 50 steps back by midseason when he isnt getting the ball enough

It's hilarious. Last year you're all saying the same thing about Ricky. NOW, folks want him here forever. It will be the same damn thing. As soon as TO takes a 3 yd hitch and turns it upfield for 85 yards to beat the Patriots (or whoever), I think you guys will be singing a much different tune. Sure TO's a baby, sure, but he can play better than any of our receivers and bottom line, he'll help us win.

they dont want TO cause his attitude has ruined 2 teams already.

Damn, I just don't buy that!!! It seems the teams just downright stunk, so they needed a scapegoat. The 9ers stunk and the Eagles stunk. Mcnabb was HORRIBLE. TO was the likely scapegoat because his big mouth. Everyone loves to jump on the 'moral high ground band wagon' because unfortunately, being politically correct seems to take precedence over the real problem. In Philly, the problem was Mcnabb. Mcnabb was ALSO a baby. TO ripped Mcnabb because he was puking in a critical drive in the SB and taking his time. TO was RIGHT! That can't be disputed. He's got a big mouth. That's it. He is what he is...a spoiled brat who can help us win. Ahhh, why bother. I'm done on this topic.

Correct I think he can help the team win short term. But I don't want this to turn into a flash in the pan every 4-5 years. The team has a reputation of being the best Franchise ever. I would like to keep it that way personally. TO is a quick fix, not a long term investment IMO.
