Was reading an article on the sun sentenial and was wondering Why do you think it is a team policy for players who are hurt not being able to come to the games? Personally I think that is the most ridiculous policy in our organization I have ever heard of. Veteran presents is so important especially to our young team. Why would the coach do this?

It is very stupid. The players should be there in their grays to support the team. If I missed my football game to an injury or failing grades I was right there on the sideline.

Sporano mentioned once that he doesn't want the players to get input from them to get them to deviate from the game plan...He says he wants ONLY the coaches giving advice on game day as they know the exact game plan, since the hurt players aren't in any meetings during the week. That is one reason at least.

He wants coaches to coach and players to play....Injured players cant play.

In the football world, when you are injured, you are dead. You are a ghost. No one seees you. You are not a part of the team during your injury. I don't know why its that way.

Thats really a dumb rule. The only injured players that would have any serious input during a game would be the qb. I'm sure there were many times this season when Henne would've loved to get input from Pennington during the game. The other players would be basically cheerleaders, nothing wrong with that.

Well apparently our coach thinks differently... and so far he is the only one with any say in the matter.

I would be kicking myself if I'm injured and playing for the dolphins. The least you want to do is support your team from the sideline.

However, i understand Sparano's point, which is a good one.

Because it is illegal to put them in electrical rooms, so this is the next best punishment!

i also think its part of the mentality towards injuries Parcells has and has thus passed to Sparano...

injuries are looked down upon by Parcells... yes it happens, but he wants you to be physically in a position to prevent injuries and he wants you to play through injuries when possible... so i think its part of, if your injured, you cant help the team so there is no reason to have you on the sideline, mindstate... like get healthy and get your *** back on the field then you can be with your teammates on game day

More or less along the same lines, but my thoughts is he doesn't want players looking over at the sidelines and thinking, whoa, better pull up some or that might be me standing over there.

I think its stupid, how much would it have helped Henne this year if Pennington was on the sideline looking over the pictures with him and talking about what he see's out there. A coach can only tell you so much especially if the coach never played in the NFL. A coach could give you the gameplan and everything but i would trust Pennington's game experience a lot more when Henne comes to the side line, he has been in the league and on the field for the last 10 years and has seen it all, if Henne is confused by a Defensive formation or a certain coverage style i would have much rather have Pennington there telling him what to look for than David Lee.
