He's cheap.
He's productive.
He's been a good soldier this season.
He won't fetch squat for a draft pick since he's 1 joint away from a year long suspension and last season neither James or Alexander could even lure in a 2nd.
Mueller and Saban are great evaluators of talent and I have faith they'll be able to bring in people with the resources available (FA, draft).
He and Ronnie can be so good together, and have been this year. Imagine this duo in playoff time when running the ball is so important.
He's a luxury we CAN afford, so I say keep him.

You'll get very few arguments out of anyone here.

I figured, but the reason I ask is because it seems that a lot of folks think we can get a first day pick for him. Which makes me think they want a 1st day pick...maybe I'm reading too much into things ;)

Did I miss something? When did Nick say anything about trading Ricky? All I have seen is him saying he intends to keep Ricky. I kinda doubt Ricky will be traded without the boss's approval. Rest easy, forget this message board speculation. It's good for inflating balloons, not much else.

I've heard the same thing from Nick. I guess I was posing a question to a lot of the fans that want to trade him for picks/etc. Pure speculation on my part :D

The consensus is that Ricky has way more value to this team than any low draft pick so it would be senseless to trade him just for the sake of trading him. Some on here, including myself, think that we should keep him if we don't get a 1st rounder for him. THAT'S how much value he has to us. I mean, who are we going to get, say, in the second round or lower that will match RW's skill level and what he brings to our team? SO with that being the case, why trade him for what will more than likely be less value to us.

Ricky ran for 172 last week. What was Browns game high this year? I'm not sure but I think Williams's avg. is much higher too. I know Brown is still a rookie but I dont think (as of yet) he will ever be the back Ricky is(when his head is on straight).

Both are averaging 4.5. Ronnie's high is 132. I think it's a little early to say he'll never be the back that Ricky is, when all signs point to him being just as good.

I'm hoping these trade Ricky threads stop....heck i wish anyone starting a trade ricky thread would be banned for a day...

It's the dumbest idea...those who want Ricky traded want to see the phins depleted...

Take the Tennesse game for example....Ronnie Brown was out, Ricky Williams was in and for 172 rushing yards....I didn;t even miss Ronnie Brown...

These trade ricky threads are disturbing

Sooner or later you have to pay the piper...and Ricky won't be cheap much longer. While it nice to have two decent running backs on your team...when you have many other obvious needs....you have to give, to get. Any team like Arizona that may offer Saban a first rounder or several other round picks for Ricky....Saban would be foolish not to think about what those picks would do for the future of the team.

Couldn't agree more. The only thing that will keep Ricky from being a DOlphin in '06 is Ricky.

You have a point, if there is kick *** offer than I say take it, but if not keep him.
