Dating back to 1999 when he first started as an official, the Dolphins are 11-6 in games where Anderson was involved. The Patriots are 12-3 in all games that Anderson has been involved in. While I could break this down more, it would take too much time and would probably bore you a bit with all the intricate details so I'll leave this as is. On the surface, the Patriots have the better record but also played two less games with Anderson. In addition, the Patriots have been dominant in the past decade or so so their record with any officiating crew is likely superb. With the Dolphins mediocrity over the past decade, I find it much more interesting that they have a pretty good record despite their failings over the past 10+ years.

To see how clear this is, let’s take a look at his stats from the 2013 season. While things change from year to year, this still gives us a good look at how Anderson calls the game and gives us a look at whether or not he and his crew will have an impact in the game against the New England Patriots. Throughout the season, Anderson and his crew called 85 penalties on the home team (40.28%) and 126 (59.72%) on the visiting team. The league average for home team penalties is 48.31%. Already, we see a difference. When Anderson and his crew officiate, the home team has a winning percentage of .625 (62.5%). The league average is .598 (59.8%). That is of course a 0.027 (2.7%) percent difference and in a game where every inch counts, this could be a big difference.

In 2013, the total number of penalties his crew called came out to 211 for 1,684 yards. They call an average of 13.19 penalties per game for a total of 105.25 yards while the league average is 12.17 for 105.03. So, in that regard, they tend to call slightly more than other crews, but probably not enough to make a difference in a game.

Interesting angle on the officiating. Thanks for the info. We need a break or two to go our way.

Fact: they will get at least one very bad PI call on 3rd down. Lets hope they even it out!

Great, Walt will read this **** and bury our asses! It's nearly impossible to get decent officiating against the Pats anyway, we don't need to antagonize them. Thanks Phinmaniacs!

LOL! If Walt Anderson is reading this the night before the first game of the season, I'd be very concerned!!

I know, I'm just having fun. I hope it works and we get a ton of calls just to hear the cheaters whine!

Thanks for all the info. It must have taken quite a long time to figure out all of that. Very interesting. What would be even better is if you could find BB's bank statement and the refs bank statement after they officiate the Pats game's. Then we could compare them to see how much Bill is actually paying them weekly.

I hate all NFL refs. If this is the same crew that I witnessed in Foxboro last year, it is of NO advantage.

Got to play the game over come the adversity.

It is doubtful we will stop the Patriots today. Our only hope is to out score them.
