why we lost yesterday

this is why we lost


we ran the ball 22 times people.Does any1 seem to get on to somtin.We win when we carry the ball over 30 but lose under 22:fire:get a dang clue linehan
 
i thought we lost because the falcons were better than us
weird.
 
we ran it as much as we threw it, (22 times) we were behind the whle game and you cant really RUN OUT THE CLOCK when your behind and expect to win.
 
I'm ALL for running the ball, but in THIS instance, the inability of the D to stop ATL on 3rd down is the biggest culprit.

And quite honestly, the D BAITED Vick, and he accepted it. IMO, they disrespected the pass with this guy, and he was better than they anticipated.

its hard to run more if the Falcons have the ball most the game!

It was like 37 minutes to 24.
 
Did we convert a 3rd down yesterday? Maybe that's why we lost. Funny thing is we could have tied it at the end against one of the better teams in the NFC after getting completely dominated.

And why didn't we convert on 3rd down. Well just check the stats on the incompletions gus threw on 3rd down. And if he did complete a pass, it was for a minimal gain.

Unfortunately gus seems to be the weakest link.

ok guys but lets remember that this is not going to go away unless we get much better on defense and get much better at the passing game. i am buying this bull crap that we are passing the ball too much i beleive that we need a qb and soon. just get better at the passing game and all will be merry in the land of saban.
 
Too many reasons to list on why we lost. Kudos to the Falcons and Vick for always seeming to find a way to get out of a jam. Remember when we had a QB that could do that??? Alls I know is that the Vegas odds for us running a reverse at an awkward moment in the 1st quarter is 5:4. And why have we not attempted a pass over 25 yards since Bostons reception? We're now playing on a field 15 yards long with an ineffective QB. We havent had the element of surprise since week 1. Playcalling has got to improve. We are NOT this bad

The issue is not that we didn't run the ball enough, the issue was that we didn't have the ball enough. When the other team holds the ball for 37 minutes, you don't get enough plays to run the ball more...Get a clue, wanna-be OC...(LOL)...
 
We lost due to a comb. of errors. First off we can only run so many reverses or end arounds in the season. Those play has been run at least one or two times every game. I think we ran them 3 or 4 times yesterday. The sad part is we kept doing it on 2nd and short situations that ended up in losses and put us back into third and long. We were able to run the ball and should have stuck with it on 2nd and short situations. This could have allowed drives to continue and perhaps at the very worst a field goal or two with a chance to kick for a win in the end instead of forcing a pass because we needed a touchdown. This would also have provided rest for the defense and kept the Falcons offensive momentum to a minnimum. Second I love lienihans pass happy offense it opens up the run game we have but Gus just cant seem to complete a third down pass unless it is 5 yards behiend the first down marker and the reciever is covered. Gus reminds me of Jim Everett and his happy feet with the Rams. Perhaps he should have gotten sacked or knocked down a couple of times at least he could have given plays more time to develop. Thats right he's a game manager. It's tough to see this team loose when everyone is giving so much effort but I like what I am seeing and when we get a Go 2 QB we will all love linehan. I just wonder why he is being so stuborn with thinking Gus can actually throw. If we just run on 2nd and 3 on several occasions durring the game it may have ended different. It also doesnt help to be behiend by 7 points after the opening drive each game major adjustments are needed to improve on that.
 
I agree with a couple of the guys here.We didn't have the ball long enough(thanks to our defence or the lack of it)to run it more.They had the ball for more than 38 minutes and like always, we fell behind early(again our defence gave up a score to start the game)so is harder to run it then.Lets face it guys, this is not gonna be our year but the o-line is getting better, Ronnie's a beast and Nick will fix this horrible defence that can't get off the field.
