Well, if he struggles the rest of the season . . . u have to consider other options . . . but I'm not gonna sit up here and say we should "cut" Mare less than half way thru the season because he has missed some 50 yarders. He was "clutch" when he nailed the 47 yarder . . . nobody told the absent minded special teams unit to have a delay of game call and send it back 5 yards, and he barely missed that one also. He had a tuff game at New England, but that field was hell. He missed a 55 yarder against Buffalo . . . I mean jeez people . . . he isn't Mr. consistent anymore but he is still very servicable, consistently the best in touchbacks and one of the best at the onsides kick. The whole team has struggled and he is no exception.
Please stop bringing up the Matt Bryant field goal in comparison . . . it was a fantastic kick, but he is also 1 of 4 from the 40-49 yard range while Lindo is 4 of 5 (should be 5 of 6). . . I just find it funny how yall conviently leave off stats like that to trash a kicker and compare him to a guy who is no where near as good as him.
So he makes 2 million a year, he earned that contract (remember Denver Monday Night), and tho he has fell off a bit, he hasn't been terrible at all . . . we have put him in some tuff spots, always asking him to save are inept offense . . . he constantly gets pressure kicks and its just not fair, yes its his job, but just like the defense is always holding up for this offense, Olindo is always trying to finish off drives instead of the offense doing it, Its been like this for years now.
Finally who u gonna bring in? Edinger . . . please he is so inconsistent with his funny style of kicking . . . sometimes he can look amazing and then he'll miss easy ones left and right. Yes we have to start looking for a future replacement, but Olindo is easily better than anybody else on the market and with his touchbacks thrown in to the mix, I'm not sweating here thinking he deserves less money, bigger cap issues and position upgrades are needed before him.
