Alot of posters have expressed concern about our team this year with
all this CBA bs...IMO I also am concerned that we can't bring in all
this FA talent that is floating around, but I think Saban positioned himself quite well for this scenario.Saban brought in Houck last year to work wonders with the ol,in which he did with the lack of talent we had.Saban went out and brought in MM and Capers to do the exact same thing with the off and def.Just about our entire coaching staff is all about schemes not talented players, they are experts with it as a matter of fact.So even though we may not have a very good FA this year,I feel our coaching staff will bring out the best in our team.
Secondary might be a lil scary right now,but I do believe Capers will work wonders just like Houck did.We may not be the most talented, but we will be one of the best coached teams in the NFL!
Nobody wanted this and we all expected to pick up talent with FA and now that it may not happen alot of people are concerned,We have already seen what Saban and Houck can do,Lets give Capers and MM the same opportunity to prove themselves,I don't think we will be disappointed.

I agree for the most part but let's not forget coaching can only go so far. You have to have talented players to preform on the field. :fireman:

Ok, you're talking about what players we need to win but you're forgetting about the bigger picture...what I'm worry about is the game of football...we have the best game in town and they're about to destroy it cos they're all being greedy.....even Kevin Carter said that the players have it better now than ever so they need to stop being so greedy and stuborn and get this done, not for the good of the Dolphins but for the good of the sport!!

Ozzy rules!!

Yeah no need to worry, because the new CBA will get done by Sunday. The NFL is not stupid, they know they have to have the CBA in place. If not, they are no better than the NHL! :sidelol:

Good post. Coaching can go a long, long way in making up for lack of talent. Let's keep in mind these are all professional athletes that have what it takes to make it to the NFL level. Certainly some have far more natural abilities than others, but none of these guys are uncoordinated boobs. Great coaching can make great players out of any good athlete who has the heart and mind to learn. And I think Saban is doing an excellent job of looking for players with the right heart and mind for the game.

Not true, we could have 53 blind, deaf, one legged senior citizens, in wheel chairs, but if they were coached good enough we would be SUPER CHAMPS BABY!!!!!! :D

Well, I agree to a point, but Capers didn't do too well with no talent in Houston and the same with MM in Buffalo...scheme does a lot towards success, but you still need a certain level of talent to make them work. Last year, Saban had to instill a lot of talent to make his schemes work, this year, we will need to be able to keep the talent level the same or better to be successful. The CBA (or lack thereof) will go a long way to determining how much talent Saban can add/replace this year...don't kid yourselves...

They were head coaches,Capers makes a better Def coach & MM makes a better Off coach some just can't make the head coach move, look at Norv turner!

No need to worry. Remember it's not Wanny at the helm anymore. Didn't he and his gang of idiots pass on Drew Brees for Jamar Fletcher?

All of the angst some of us are feeling is being shared by fans of nearly every team in the league. The exception being those perennial bottom dwellers (Arizona, Detroit etc).
If everyone has to slash their rosters and limit the number of star players on their teams, then coaching becomes MUCH more important. On a level playing field you have to think that Saban has an edge over the vast majority of coaches. At least we'd all like to think (hope) so.

Why we shouldn't worry too much?? The answer is simple... cuz Saban is our coach and he knows what to do. Enjoy the offseason:wink:
