Seen several "Tannehill Sucks" type threads, but I am not seeing many if at all threads about our terrible defense. Why is everyone so damn quick to blame RT when clearly it's on our D and O line? Has he been perfect? great? No and no, but give him a break people. (playcalling and coaching are understood as horrible)

The downfall of this team is the D. Can't get off the field. AT ALL. And our O Line. Can't block/run the ball. = DISASTER

Suh has been nearly invisible, along with the rest of our "starting" defense. 0 sacks from that "starting" unit. disgusting. and OV can walk after this season cause he sucks too and has 0 passion and doesnt deserve **** for a huge contract. Wake isn't the same anymore, and Mitchell isn't doing much of anything. I think we have better results with the 2nd team line. At least they have a fire and play with some sense of urgency.

LB corps sucks. Misi is ehh, so is Shepperd and Jenkins is at least serviceable if not pretty good at the Will. So much for Chris McCain playing LB huh?

DBs are playing poor. Grimes has been playing pretty good and is now hurt. B McCain is below average, JTaylor is not much better...we have 0 depth at CB
Safety position is below average. Where has Jones been? not much depth here either

RT deserves plenty of blame, sure, but this team's lack of a defense, primarily stopping the run, followed by our inability to run the ball, is the real reason we suck. Anyone with decent football knowledge knows everything starts up front at the line. We simply fail to control the LOS. The end.

only real true morons think this is all on tannehill...

I mean look how Andrew Luck has looked this year...hes even hurt now...

Dan Marino would be 1-3 with this defense.

Just because the entire team is bad doesn't mean we shouldn't focus on the terrible qb play. We need a lot of work and it should start with drafting a new qb.

noone is saying you cant criticize qb play but it seems the people who are seething about the qb play dont take into account any other aspect of the team whether it is contributing to his struggles or not. I mean yea tannehill hasnt looked good but how about 1 sack thru 4 games, or the fact tannehills under duress every 2.9 dropbacks or the fact our defense lets teams run all over them and basically move the chains easily. I mean this team is trash in all aspects. Only ONE player looks like he cares and wants to win and i dont even have to say his name, we all know who. This team sucks badly and its not all RTs fault. I am a big Tannehill fan and i will even admit he hasnt looked good the past 2 weeks but if you have watched the games you will see that the offensive line gives him no time whatsoever and the playcalling sucks as well. We ran the ball 11 times today, 11. Lazor loves calling the wide receiver screens. He called 7 passing plays, 0 runs when we were on the 2 yard line. I mean that is bad playcalling. The defense and offense equally suck.

Aside from perhaps one obvious person, I haven't seen anyone who is saying this team's failure is "all" on Tannehill.

It's far more than just Tannehill but the regression in his game is alarming. If Ross doesn't make a change by firing Philbin then Philbin needs to make a change to Matt Moore. Moore is not the answer long term but teams have been jump started by this kind of move and quite frankly, I'm not sure that Tannehill hasn't checked out mentally from David Carr Syndrome.

To be fair, the defense is the main reason we have the lone win we do have. The offense was atrocious in that game. We scored 10 points in that game.

The offense has been miserable in EVERY game thus far. The biggest reason the offense has been miserable has been the play of the QB. We are not even averaging 20 points per game.

The defense has been putrid the last 2 games, but to be fair they were good in week 1 and decent in week 2. The defense has also been pretty good in the 2nd half of 3 of 4 games. The play of the offense is doing them no favors by placing them in horrible spots.

Of the two units, the offense has clearly been worse than the defense. Neither has been good. The offense has been a complete disaster. In fact, they are the leagues worst.

Actually there are several posters on this board who honestly feel that RT is a "franchise QB" who can not be legitimately criticized. They are so invested in their homerism that they can not see any of the readily apparent flaws in Tannehill's game that are eminently worthy of criticism. In their minds RT was drafted by the Dolphins so he must be perfect.

Now I am not saying that the rest of the team does not deserve criticism because frankly the entire team has been awful. But let's be honest: our offensive line is a disaster, our linebackers would have trouble winning starting jobs on any other team in the league, our defensive backfield has only one starting caliber player, our running backs don't get the job done, and OUR QB IS AT BEST MEDIOCRE. In addition, our incompetent front office put this garbage roster together and our coaching staff couldn't coach their way out of a wet paper bag if we were to spot them a machete and a two foot wide pilot hole.

Criticism of the owner is justified. Criticism of the front office is justified. Criticism of the coaching staff is justified. Criticism of the players is justified. Criticism of Ryan Tannehill is justified.

We dont even run the ball...We have 171 passes to 52 rushes (from rbs)....and dont act like the offense has been THAT much worse than the defense. The defense is getting gashed on the ground and letting crap qbs look like Tom Brady. Both units are garbage.

Bill Bellichek would win 10+ games with this roster.

If he bought Brady with him.

Probably even without him, Bellichek puts his players in positions to succeed...whether he cheats or not.

He would have to do a lot of cheating with this group.

All the concerns with this team during the offseason have shown themselves. The guards, lbs, and corner opposite grimes have been a disaster. Paying a dt 114 million may have been a mistake. That's on the front office. Tannehill hasn't taken that next step. And philbin and his coaching staff look completely lost and overmatched. Firing philbin and coyle is a start but more than likely won't fix a damn thing

It's a team game. To lay the all the blame at the foot of the QB makes you a moron. Did he play like crap today? Sure. Was he on his ass most of the day? Yes. Was he the one getting trucked, missing tackles, and mailing it in to the tune of 200+ yards rushing on the ground? No.

The ones who don't understand this really don't understand football.
