Is it me, or am i the only one who sees a winnning record based on last year for the reasons.

1. Jay fiedler is gone, Feely or Frerotte are better

2. We got rid of Wanstedt and got Nick saban who seems to be an amazing coach

3. We got hudson houck who turned a s**t charger o-line into a very good one

4. There were no huge distrations this year....ricky. In fact, he came back thereby leading me to #5

5. We by far have the BEST running back core in the entire league. we have 2 top five draft pick running backs. plus lamar gordon and travis minor for a change of pace.

6. a new and improved d-line. with the additions of kevin carter, vonnie holliday, and "Tracktor" Traylor, and hopefully corey simon

7. We had one of the steals of the draft in channing crowder who will improve our lb core along with donnie spragan.

8. we got rid of sammy knight, i know this may seem bad but i couldn't stand when he would always get burnt by the receivers, which leads me to maybe the only worsened part of our team from last year..........

9. The Secondary. The only real loss was surtain, but that is a huge loss.

10. I think that olindo is also back from his break that he took last year.

11. We only got blown out in 1 game...that was the jets; who are much worse this year. The pats are worse and the bills have losman.

12. if we had better coaching and feeley had developed one extra year and played the entire season; even with the crap ol and the worst rb tandem in the nfl we would have won 8 games last year. Think back to all the game we could have won on feeleys ints. for tds and the stupid stuff that happened.

I think we will be 10-6 this year or maybe 9-7 but atleast it will be better than last year.

What do you guys think ,after reading that, our record will be?

I posted this in another thread, about momentum, but it applies here:

I agree with you. I've been thinking a lot about what our teams chances are this year as the preseason has unfolded. I've come to the conclusion that we will be similar to the Bills last year, as far as in-season momentum goes.

I see us struggling early on to win games, find the right mix of players, players buying what the coaches are selling, and hitting our stride.

I see us hitting that stride midway through the season, not long after Ricky comes back with fresh legs and something to prove.

I see us finishing VERY strong, sending a messege to the rest of the league: "Y'all better look out next year, because after we make a few more tweaks in the offseason, we are going to come out and DOMINATE you in '06!"

That is why I'm looking forward to this season, and it's why I won't be disappointed if we do not have a winning season, rech the playoffs, etc.

I believe fully in Saban's "work in progress" mantra, and am excited to watch the team grow as the season progresses.

Momentum is underrated, but by the end of the season, I don't think it will be underrated in Miami anymore.

Good post.
I think we will win quite a few games... after losing quite a few games. I see us 8-8, or maybe 7-9. But again, this will not disappoint me... I can't wait to watch the Saban era beging to unfold.

First off, based on last years line that Jay Fiedler had to play under as well, Feeley was worse statistically. So what your saying there isnt really winning a whole lot of people over. The Oline is defenitely improved because they are actually engaging defenders. They will win some, and lose some, but LT is way way more stable and we have two guys who can play LT, which is a major accomplishment.

Frerrote wont make the costly mistakes that JF did, but he does need to connect long. The whole Linehan plan is to connect long so he can stretch a defense lenght wise and width wise so we then can run up the gut in the fourth quarter with Ronnie Brown. If Gus can connect (Or AJ whenever he gets his chance) than I do believe we can go 10-6. It really is not out of the question. It all comes down to execution. We have the talent I believe, we have the coaching by far, we have the players that can execute now (minus some uneasiness still on the interior OL and QB). If we cannot connect long, then we will be more like 6-10 or 7-9.

I'd predict 7-9 untill i see how our qb, o-line and secondary look in a meaningfull game if everything clicks who knows but untill then i'll keep it conservative

Reasons you will be disappointed:

1) O-line isnt completely fixed yet
2) QB's arent much better than fiedler
3) Very Tough Schedule
4) Playing in the AFC East
5) no way we finish 10-6....6 or 7 wins id more realistic.

Heres the wind up ..............................................................

We were 2 & freakin 14, 8-8 would be come back team of the year. In fact if we get out of the first 4 games 1-3 I'd be thrilled!!!!!

Look At The Schduele

10-6 Is Impossible
7-9
Ah yes, it is impossible. There is no way on earth that we can be 10-6. We won't get ANY breaks, ANY calls, or ANY momentum. I agree :shakeno:
