When you dont draft shrewdly you put your team behind in terms of developing into a winner. The more good players on the team, the better the team. The only way to compensate for wasted draft picks is to sign Top-tier free agents.... Unfortunately for us Dolphin fans, ownership & management dont do either well. Please dont call LJ Shelton, Will Allen great signings...
and please dont mention players who we traded draft picks for, those arent free agents! This is the reason why we are a 1-4 team. Saban has made many mistakes in less than a year and a 1/2...pile those on top of Wannys mistakes.....and this is the end result...1-4

Can't really argue with that. It's the sad truth. Even our trades haven't have been, for the most part, NOT good.

The reason we're 1-4 has NOTHING to do with Saban's drafting; and very little to do with Wanny's drafting (although it was god awful). Sure Wanny's drafting set us back, but we still have enough talent starting on the team to be a 9-10 win team. The reason we're losing is piss poor playcalling. Our defense has been more than good enough for us to win........

Its true you need to draft well to have success in the NFL. But how do you say we don't draft well with Saban?

Last year was a bumper crop by NFL standards. A starting RB, LB, & CB. Then have contributing DL players is not a bust, but a triumph. Then this year you bring in contributing DL & WR, not to mention an 1st or 2nd string OL who got hurt, and a S who is way too early to call a bust, and I just don't see where you can complain. Sure we could have reached for OL help, that worked out great with Vernon Carey and Wade Smith.

The biggest mistake Saban made was bringing in Mularkey. You want to rip him for that, then go ahead.

As good as the defense has been, they are far from perfect. Our special teams are playing like crap, our offense is obviously less than spectacular. It's fair to say we have some personnel issues.

We stink right now=1 and 4

We don't have the Ravens defense, but it's still good enough to be a 10 win team. The problem is, all our plays are within a 10-15 yard area......hooks/curls/slants. We're passing it about 70% of the time, without stretching the field........no team can win that way.

i'll give you a real good reason why we are 1-4.

We dont force turnovers often and we make stupid turnovers often.our defense doesnt seem to cause many turnovers which is a problem

I agree!! For one Ronnie hasnt put up the same stats as last year but he doesnt touch the ball near as much as we need him to. He needs to have a chance to wear a D out and get into a groov, so far this year we havnt come close to either. Two, I will say our O line hasnt been as good as last year (thats sad last years O line was decent at best, though they played better at the end of the year) Our drafting has been fine with Saban, the only question I have so far is Allen but its far to soon to say he is a "bust".

well we finally have a smart fin fan!!! I agree with all of your points, Mularkey needs to be fired or change his ways. He did crap in Buffalo and you can say he did good things in Pitt but he also had all the talent in the world

I don't know why you mentioned Will Allen. I think he's been a pleasant surprise. He's an upgrade over Madison.
SM is stuggling in NY. Good move on Saban's part in dumping him at the right time.

I too am puzzled by the play calling.
3rd quarter down by 6 to the Pats and we are in shotgun formation on first down.

I blame it on bad personnel decisions (average to crappy players being drafted or brought in), bad coaching and playcalling, and lack of intensity...you get the feeling that many players (outside of JT, Zach and Welker) don't seem to really care at times.

The depth on this team needs improvement, that takes a bit of time. Perhaps there's too many sub level coaches. I don't have a specific reason for this statement, its just a stab in the dark comment
