why would zach thomas say this!!

This was a quote on fox sports.com

"We'd like to think we're better than this," Miami linebacker Zach Thomas said. "But we're not."

Why would he say that he is supposed to be the heart and soul of this team the LEADER...i just dont understand why a veteran would say that...what the whole team and all the rookies going to think when they see this.

Also, I wanna see ronnie brown run the heck out of the ball on sunday he needs 25-30 carries at least!!! Titans can not stop the run and the last thing we need to be doing is relying on the pass a heavy running attack will just open up all doors i believe....LETS GET BACK TO .500 GO PHINS:dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:
 
The reality of the situation is that we're not very good right now. Zach speaks the truth, Do I think we can turn it around? Of course and I know Zach feels the same way. ZT isn't afraid to let everyone know that their not playing good football and need to improve.
 
We're 0-2, so RIGHT NOW, we are one of the worst teams in the league. You can tell Zach's frustration just by that quote, which tells me that he thinks they should be a good team, but it just hasn't come together, YET.

Yeah i just think its kinda risky saying that they arent very good instead of saying we having played to our full potential yet...(which they havent) i just thought it was intresting but who know they might get fired up!! something needs to happen

Zach is a stand up guy, Straight shooter, tells it exactly how it is. We can only hope the rest of the team gets a little fired up about it :wink:

Zach always says stuff like this...at least when the Phins lose.
During the 4-12 season he was all doom and gloom, to the point that I was thinking the same thing....that it was counterproductive.
I think being that way probably helps motivate himself, and maybe some teammates too, but I dont think thats the intent....I think he just gets overly emotional and vents.

I don't know if saying this is right? But from what i have seen from the other 0-2 teams were probley the best 0-2 team. Does that make sense to anyone?

I think a little confidence will do this wonders they cant lean on any player right now and with back to back wins these next two weeks we have a whole new season ahead of us! :D
 
Leader or not.........any veteran would be disparaged if his team was playing like crap.......(maybe its a tactic to get the team jacked-up):D

We and the panthers have to be the best 0-2 teams we just havent played to our potential yet and everyone knows it we are a good team it just has not showed yet but we will find out who we actually are in the next three weeks

exactly....i like where your head's at :)


i definitely agree with that as well....its just a matter of time before things are going to be picked up and everyone will be on the same page again. everything that is happening right now just wasn't expected from the fans or the players...this is why things like this are being said...which shows that its time to come to a realization that we are a good team, however, we just need to show everyone that we are. and another thing i'd like to add is that the AFC East seems pretty tough this year.....and that was something everyone thought wasn't going to be the issues with the exception of the Pats....Jets and Bills are both 1-1 i know its early....but they've both been playing well against the Pats....I'm a bit nervous right now....i hope by week 5 the Dolphins can show us we have nothin to be nervous of in this division when they take on the Pats...
 
Zach does this same thing every year...we have a bad stretch and he starts talking about how bad the team is. I'm telling you this happens all the time! In his mind I'm sure he is trying to motivate.
 
I think he was speaking more in terms of that game. And the blunt truth is that we were one of the worst teams in football last Sunday. The good thing is that everyone is saying the right things so far. Saban has challenged Daunte, Daunte is working to make sure that doesn't happen again, and Zach is sort of challenging the defense in his own way.
 
To Quote Bill Parcells "You are what you are." Right now the Dolphins are 0-2.
