I see a lot of threads with people wanting 3,4,5 or more FA's. We are going to have to over pay to get our FA's this year and we still need to find out about Hadnot. Seems he wants a 6 year 36 million dollar deal. Next year we have to take care of Carey.

Why waste money on FA's now to get us to 8-8 when we can keep working our salary cap down and have some real money in 2 years to get people that will help us get to the SB.
Im not saying we shouldnt get any FA's , just to keep them to a bare minimum.

We definitely need to bring in our own guys instead of overpaying for FA's. You end up pissing away money for 3 or 4 players that really don't make a difference anyway. You are right my friend we need to be patient and keep our cap in good shape while grooming young football players for the future. I'm with you on this one.

I agree with the general idea of not bringing in a lot of FA's, but, we shouldn't just abandon FA's altogether. Use a common sense approach and get young, decent players that have some upside to them instead of the old has been's or never were's. By getting one or two young up and comers signed to longer contracts would help us much more than just throwing our money at a lot of minimally talented or declining players! Just don't go throwing buckets of money at "stars", keep the Cap in good shape by being shrewd, not cheap or reckless!

Absolutely have to disagree certain free agent players can make an impact ala Drew Bress. The problem has been the front office and scouting making all the wrong choices. If we get young guys under 25 years old like Marcus Trufant who are in their prime they can play for years to come. Draft picks are only as good as the man picking them. Hopefully we have the right guys in place enough though I felt last years draft class was pretty well. 1 or 2 more strong drafts and a 3 to 5 strong free agents and we can compete with the elite.

you have to do FAs look at what the Pats did most there WR came from FA or Trade where they didnt have to give much up they gave a 4th for Moss and a second and 7th for welker yea they had to give something but they didnt give up much at all and we can pick up guys in the FA that would help us out alot so i say we need to stop being carfull and start getting guys in Miami Im not saying we need over pay them the WR that are going to be FA arnt going to get alot of money from any team so we need to go get them and stop trying to win later and try and win NOW yea if the Dolphins wait we will probly start winning in about 4 or 5 years but y wouldnt u rather win now

I have to disagree as well. One, we need talent any way we can get it. You cant expect to grab impact players with 6th and 7th rounders. Also, in Dallas, Bill was active in FA, so I dont expect it to be any different here. We have the cap room.

Of course every Dolphin fan would love to win now. The reality of it is this team needs alot. Now I'm in agreement with one of the previous posters. Even though I said before I wouldn't want to spend money on FA's I am not against the idea of landing young free agents with the best part of their careers ahead of them. This does become a slippery slope though because you have to manage money wisely and pick the one who bring the best value because more than likely a young free agent will be looking for a big pay day. The heart and soul of this football team still IMO needs to be built through the draft.

what about the siants a couple years ago they needed alot and they pick up just Drew Brees and a couple other guys and look what they did that year they went to the NFC Champion chip

I dont want 30 plus year old in FA i want people that have proven them selves and are still in there 20s

I want to resign the people that we have first like Y. Bell and Rex but i think Rex Is going to ask for WAY to much money for a Decent Gaurd

The Pats where already a good team when they got those FA's. We are a 1-15 team. I understand wanting to win now , but I want to do this right and not only win but set us up to where we will be good for another 10 years. Going crazy on FA's wont get us to the SB this year and would actually push us back in our rebuild.

I don't see an FA out there I would sacrafice Carey for and hes going to get a kings ransome next year. This year we have to deal with Hadnot and he wants 6 years and 36 million.People want Zach to restructure his deal but that will just push him into our dead cap space when he retires.

I didn't say not to get any FA's , I said to get the minimum. If you think FA's will make us winners you might check out the Redskins record for the last 10 years.

Theres a very simple solution to this.

You dont sign Rex Hadnot.

Thats not my call to make. Who are you going to replace him with, how much will they cost, and how old are they? Im not saying we have to keep him , just that we have to have a plan to fill his spot if we let him walk.

How much under the cap do we need to be to have our "rookie pool" for the draft?

yea the Pats were good but do u think they would be 17-0 right now if they didnt have Moss, Welker, Stallworth, or Gaffney those are the main people on the Pats not including Tom Brady IMO if they didnt have those 4 WR that they got in the Offseason then the would not be 17-0

I didnt say not to get any FA's. I just want to have the cap room to get them when we are good enough to make a push for the SB.

I do want Isaac Sopoaga in FA to help stop the run.
