I think the coach made a poor choice to punt the ball on 4th and about 4... with about 4 minutes left... we were of the other side of the 50 and relatively moving the ball.. giving them the ball back like that wasn't a good decision in my opinion being that they were torching our db's..

Probably because the time allowed us to punt it away, get the ball back with a little bit over a minute left with better field position.

Risky? Yes.

Just means Sparano trusted his defense, no problem with that.

this is the greatest post of the week?
why?
we all agree, why not gofor it

It was the right call. If we didn't get it all they had to do was go 20 yards to get into FG range and end the game.

absolutely right.. it was 4th and 4 and we absolutely should have gone for it. Putting the ball back into brady's hands and relying on our defense for a stop was the worst decision Sparano made today. I am confident we would have gotten the first.. it was a poor coaching decision to punt.. should have went for it considering where we were on the field

If we wouldn't have got it and they got two 1st downs and kicked the FG to ice the game game everyone would be calling Sparano the biggest moron on the planet including me.

NO WAY you go for it there, plus call me crazy but it worked out right, we got the ball back with plenty of time left.

Why did he then burn all 3 timeouts? Bad decisions during the game are becoming a trademark for an otherwise excellent coach.

I am with you on that. If the Pats even score a FG...GAME OVER. You have to trust your defense to make a play and get the ball back.

And they did.

We DID get the ball back. Sparano made the right call.

Every coach in the league would punt in that situation. But the play-calling dictated they weren't thinking 4-down territory - on 3rd and 5 a draw play would have been a nice call to get the 1st down or set up something more manageable like 4th and short. We'd just started to get the running game going

i dont agree with it being the right call just because the play calling on defense sux

we could have 13 guys on the field you keep rushing 3 guys and let tom go thru his reads 3 ****ING TIMES he will pick apart a 10 man secondary
