Matt SchaubQBThe Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the Dolphins have been talking with the Falcons about acquiring Matt Schaub. Schaub is entering his third year in the NFL and has only started 2 games in his career. However, he impressed a lot of people last year when he started against the Patriots and completed 18 of 34 passes for 295 yards and 3 touchdowns. Other than that one game, he has only completed 48 of 100 passes for 530 yards with 2 TDs and 4 INTs.or

Tommy MaddoxQBReportedly visiting Miami on 3/21/06. Tommy Maddox first entered the league in 1992, but took 5 years off in the middle of his career. He was out of the NFL from 1996 to 2001 when he returned to play for the Steelers. He has been in Pittsburgh ever since as a starter in 2002 and 2003 and a backup to Ben Roethlisberger in 2004 and 2005. He is a competent veteran in the Gus Frerotte mold. If the Dolphins can't re-sign Frerotte, they have told Maddox they'd be interested in him.
Signing Probability: Medium

or a draft pick like cutler:dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

Schaub is better, younger and has much more upside than Maddox. However I cannot fathom Saban trading away another draft pick to aquire him. Maddox will be our backup.

Schaub.

On a side note:

Isn't it much more fun talking about backup QB's actually BACKING UP our QB, and not starting?

atlanta is not getting rid of schaub. the jets tried and were denied hard. its maddox by default out of the choices.

The asking price for Schaub is WAY too high. Cutler would be a waste of our first rounder now that we've acquired Culpepper. Out of the choices, Maddox, sad as I am to say it, is the best.
