Wide receiver Quincy Morgan cut!!

How does being an average WR in college help you once you are in the NFL?

What do you have against Gibson? Wanted the bills to draft him?

Look, as far as Quincy Morgan, I dont think we will sign him and dont think we need to, but it is not out of the question considering we were looking at Price (hence, Saban feels iffy about our WR depth). As for Gibson, if you dont see the potential that is fine, but you cant argue that its a bad pickup when the risk/loss is nothing and we have a 4th round pick WR added to our team that is trying to build an offensive identity. He may not be a stud immediately, he may be a project, but he has the potential to do good things. I can guarantee that if he were added to the Bills PS, your board would be happy too.
I can honestly tell you that had he been signed to our squad we would not be happy. We want to win now not five years down the road. Price would have made more sense than Morgan and Gibson. He put up Pro Bowl numbers at least once in his career.

Not at all. I just dont understand why you all are acting like you just picked up Jerry Rice in his prime.

HA! So win now abandon the future? Great mindset. The downfall of Wanny? Exactly that. Gibson would not cost you anything this year, he would not reduce your chances of winning now, he would only increase your chances of winning in the future. And the negative part is....?? I dont see it.

Jerman isn't on your PS. He made the 53 man roster.
He will never step foot on the field, he is third on the depth chart. He might as well be PS. The guy has done nothing to catch my eye in the preseason so in my mind he is a non factor for us.

Ashlie Lelie was supposed to be the next Randy Moss.
Maybe Lelie is not the next Moss, but he surely is one of the most dangerous receivers in the league. Madison or Howard will have to work overtime on Sept. 11th.

I was just making the point that doing good in college doesnt mean you are going to be an all pro in the NFL.

Morgan

I would like to point something out about the Morgan-Bryant trade. Everyone wants to say Dallas got screwed by letting Bryant go for Morgan, but talent was never the issue. Dallas has said many times that they knew Bryant is a great receiver and wanted him to become their go-to guy. The reason Bryant was let go was because he was a cancer in the locker room and on the sidelines. He would throw fits when he wasn't given the ball enough, and he always stayed away from the team on sidelines. He was a selfish player for Dallas. He was traded because it is what Parcells felt was best for the team as a whole and not because he thought Morgan was a more talented reciever. We as fans only see productivity on the field. We don't get to see player personalities every day in the locker rooms like the team or coaching staff does. You don't want a player on your team who disrespects the coach by throwing a jersey in his face, or complains about the addition of another reciever (Keyshawn Johnson). You need players who are going to be there for the team, and not their own individual numbers. Not everything is based on talent. If that was the case, then Randy Moss would still be in Minnesota and Owens wouldn't be at odds with the Eagles. In the end, I think Dallas did the right thing by removing a detriment and at least trying to get something in return instead of just blatantly cutting him. Yes, Morgan was a disappointment, but at least they tried to get someone instead of just letting Bryant go with nothing in return. Right now Bryant seems to be playing with the team attitude for the Browns, but let's see if that holds up considering this is a contract year for him. What will his attitude be like if he isn't putting up the numbers he wants or the team starts losing?

You got a point, we just hope that he will develop and helps our team, you are in our board a lot and generally you are making sense, dont let this topic turn in a confrontation.

I can completely understand "hoping" that he becomes something and contributes and I cant blame you. But it just seems like everytime a team signs someone the fans think the guy is going to come in and be the next somebody.

This does not only apply to Finheaven, we have this problem on the Range sometimes too. It simply makes no sense.

If it was a seasoned verteran I could understand you getting pumped up about it but this guy is a fourth rounder who got cut from a Pitt. team who is HURTING bad for WR's right now.

And just the fact that he got cut as a rookie after being drafted in the fourth should be a flag. Kind of like Clarett.
