Since 1967 wideouts who have been drafted in the 1st round have been busts about 60% of the time.. In fact only 2 wr's in the history of the draft have been number one picks in the draft..Irving Fryer and Meshawn Johnson...They have one super bowl between them and the Bucs did not need loud mouth to win theirs...What I am trying to say is that wideouts first of all take time to develop ,not that we dont have time but more importantly they are too risky to take with a 1st round pick..If you look at last years draft there wasn't a WR taken until the steelers took Holmes and he was a ruturn specialist for them..when he played...Bottom line is we should go QB or OL ...sign a wr in Free agency maybe Stallworth but I would Look at Kevin Curtis and Shawn Mcdonald from the Rams because of the money...they both have great speed...and were in the shadows of bruce and holt..we have several young guys on the Defensive line so we could use a Linebacker and a CB or safety...I would love for us to Find a QB but if we cant get the top two ,go for a Left Tackle or Center...And I wouldn't want Deilman or the Bengal tackle if they are too much money...Besides Deilman is a one year wonder.not saying he wont be good or great but he hasnt done it for a long time to warrant big money!:dolphins:

I agree that the dolphins shouldn't look to spend their first pick on a receiver. However, i don't believe that they were actually going to draft a receiver. A lot of guys have to be off the board for a WR to be the BPA. I'd say we're praying for Quinn to fall to #9, if not, we're taking Levi Brown.

Now i'll openly admit, i'd much rather take Laron Landry, (because IMO i think he will be the BPA at our pick) and just play it from there. However, I do believe that we;re going to ultimately draft out of need rather then BPA, which will bug me. But i dont see us taking a WR in the first at all. Maybe int he 2nd however.

No offense or anything...but the fact that wide receivers taken in the first round are often busts isn't exactly new, unknown information.

I know genius just putting it out there for all who want us to draft Ginn or Jarrett:shakeno:

I like Dwayne Jarret as long as Quinn isn't on the board.

good opinion, almost word for word what was said on nfl redzone this afternoon on sirius radio. at least give a reference, don't pawn it off as your own.

My god what the hell are you talking about Nfl Redzone? I unlike you would never pay for radio...

would you never pay for TV as well....very ignorant statement. have you ever tried satellite radio? you may pay for it then...plus 12 bucks a month for hundreds of different station is a hell of a deal and little to no commercials!

i don't care what you say about sirius radio, chief. you took that entire post from what they said this afternoon about drafting wide receivers and offensive linemen.

I think you are right. Calvin Johnson is the only non-potential bust at WR in this draft. If we stay at #9, we'll take Quinn if he is there. If not, I'm exactly with you in that I think it's a toss up between Levi Brown and Laron Landry. While I like Brown, the jury is still out on whether he is even close to being worth of a Top 10 pick. Landry, on the other hand, should be right in that range.
