Well I know most of you would not like ted ginn jr with the 9th pick, but this years draft is loaded with recievers we need to pick up steve smith in my opinion in the second round, also drew stanton but thats another story if not steve smith, gonzalez is available.

You are right about Ginn....I don't want him. Runs terrible routes and can't seem to recover from injury fast enough.

All that being said.... I would rather try an OL and a QB at 2nd rd if we can't get Quinn at 9. We go L. Brown with #9, go Stanton on 2a and a WR or another OL on 2b.

I like Meacham, Sidney Rice or even Dwayne Jarrett (yes I know he isnt a burner so dont go there). But anything is a possibility at this point.

great point, but would sidney rice be avaiable in the 2nd, I really dont think so, but yeah I was a ginn supporter but now hes just sucks

He may be there in the 2nd. Not too much on the kid so he may be under the radar. It is a huge possibilty. Ginn is and was overrated. I never liked him. The WR on OSU outside of him are so much better. Ginn is good as a PR/KR at best.....ya know...can only run straight lines without having to run a route...lol

i agree with otown on ginn i hope and i mean i really hope that we get gonzales or jarrett or wr craig davis . let me ask you guys a question here. what if we could fix our oline and we bring in 2 wrs and a te and then bet a qb like kolb would you all be angry if we added some real competition to the receiving corp ?:cooldude:

To answer your question. I think we really only need 1 really good speedy WR that has good hands and can run good routes. I think for the moment we are decent at TE but we could pick up one in the later rounds. I would love to get Olsen but he will be gone at the time we are filling some voids. I think we need at least 2 OL out of our first 3 picks. As far as Kolb....no way. I would go for Stanton or Edwards before even putting him in my thoughts. If we get Quinn at 9 then I say WR and OL with the next 2 picks....

Good point if Quinn is not there than we go OL,QB,WR with the first three picks but if their is a lock down CB that fell to the second round I think we would have to consider it as well.

my WR in order go....
calvin johnson
robert meachem
ted ginn jr
dwayne bowe
sidney rice
steve smith
dwayne jarrett
i like all these WR and would like any of them. i really like jarretts hands but his speed wasnt the greatest. but i think he would preform better in a game.

I'd love to have Meachem or Bowe if either somehow slipped to the 2nd.

I agree. It should be a consideration. If we could get one around 2b then great but if there isn't one, then we go WR...one would think. I think it is even possible to get one of those WR I mentioned at the top of the 3rd if need be. Who knows really.

Just say no to Levi Brown.

Well...considering we need OL help and Joe Thomas is all but gone withing the first 4 picks (according to mocks), who else do you have in mind that has the talent and ability to start now. No one really stands out with those long arms, athletic ability and can move a little.

I dont know O .... I like Mr. Ginn. He definitely has got some rocket engines for legs, which we desperately need. He may be an unpolished route runner but can improve through TC and as the season progresses. Going by Boomers posts about him (very good read I thought), the dude has cat like athleticism and can make a cut going full speed like no other. It also could be said that he was garnering most of the attention at Ohio State and thats why the other receivers had the better production.

Going by our need of a true flanker, I would not want Gonzalez. I thought Meacham and Bowe looked more polished and smoother than the other guys. I am not sure if these guys will be there in the 2nd round though.

I give you that about his speed. He did run that KO back on my Gators in the BCS game but then something happened.... He got hurt by someone stepping on his foot and has been out ever since. It seems the consensus on the guy is he gets hurt easy and then it is hard for hom to recover. I mean...the BCS was like months ago and he is still showing affects from it. I know he has speed and I agree we could use it.....but not at #9. There is much more talent out there that has the all around package.
