Cam and the Fins were 1-15 last year, but one of the FEW bright spots was the "statue of liberty" . . Cam's one moment as the coach were many people could agree that it was a good play call.

Sparano/Lee had their moment yesterday when they installed the "wild hog" formation on offense and had so much success with it.

Question is . . which one did u like seeing more and which do u think we will have the most success with?

The Wildhog for two simple reasons.
1. The SOL play was in the preseason.
2. The Wildhog formation worked everytime (except when ricky got over excited and tripped). The play helped us get the Win and looks like its going to be real big this season.

I have to say I think the staff had more than a moment yesterday but I do know what you mean...

Everyone is focusing on this new formation as I think most everyone (fans included) were caught off guard just like the Pats to see something this creative out of a Miami team...

The fact is they were doing all kinds of things... On both sides of the ball...

but I would say the 'Wildcat' is by far the superior set as it has sooo many more options inside it. Power, counter, pass... it is a very difficult thing to defend and even 'showing' it causes headaches... The Dolphins just got ALOT TOUGHER to gameplan yesterday!

Yep ! The key is the versatility of this formation. Mad props for this wrinkle ....

Since "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," what are the odds that within 2 weeks at least 5 more teams will be selectively running this formation? (I think about 100%, especially the desperate and QB challenged teams like KC and the Bears).

Well I can guarantee one thing... ALOT of teams are going to be watching that film the week before they play the Pats!

I assume Oakland will run it with Darren McFadden.

But I don't know if every team can just start running the Wildcat. With Miami, our quarterbacks coach David Lee is the guy who invented the Wildcat formation at Arkansas. So he can take his years of experience, and properly instruct, coordinate, and organize the practices for all the offensive players on what they should do in each situation.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Wild Hog is a variation of the Single wing from way back in the day. Just like the Gators run a modified wing T.

Off the top of my head; How this for a name? Wild Fin. After all, Dolphins don't fly.

Now imagine, Ginn taking Ricky's place or even at QB with Ricky or Ronnie in motion.

For Christ Sakes, its WILDHOG. David Lee came up with the idea, and it's called the WILD HOG. Where the hell is this wild cat **** coming from? And McFadden has already taken a few snaps in this style at Oakland. We're not the first NFL team to break it out.

I live in Arkansas, and have been watching this style for the past couple of seasons with Felix and McFadden. The obvious key to success is having two outstanding backs that have the ability to break. There's not too many teams that have the tandem at backs as we have, so I wouldn't expect much out of other teams.

Didn't he do it in the regular season too? I know I remember it happening twice, and I can't remember if it was twice in the preseason or once in each.

they might have ran it twice. I just remember the one in the preseason, and everyone was questioning why the head coach would call trick plays in meaningless games. I guess we later on found out why...... our head coach was an idiot!

People often say that these are "college plays" and gimmicky plays that "can't possibly work in the NFL." They always say NFL defensive players are too fast and too smart to get beaten on these plays. I for one think we should run more plays like this....reverses, options involving Ronnie Brown running and throwing it, moving RB into the QB spot occasionally. I would even love to see some I-Back and Wing formations where the QB laterals the ball on some sweep plays. It worked 4-5 times against the Pats. If it works keep using it.
