Once upon a time the Dolphins wanted to get Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the game at the same time. And so Wildcat was born.Well, the team might be doing some similar game-planning this week to get Reggie Bush and rookie Daniel Thomas on the field together. The emergence of Thomas (107 yards on 18 carries on Sunday) could prompt coaches to find more innovative ways to get both players on the field at the same time. After Sunday’s game, coach Tony Sparano suggested there are few options for getting both players on the field at the same time. The club did use the players together on a couple of plays, but the package was admittedly small. The use of both players is primarily a passing set, but the idea could soon grow beyond that.“It’s just somebody has got to block if you’re doing that,” Sparano said. “You can’t throw it all the time out of that. In order to do some of those things, that was how the Wildcat started way back when. It was part of our package going in last night to try to keep a few more playmakers out there.”Sparano said Thomas played 33 plays against Houston and Bush 25. But putting both players in the game together might create some mismatches in Miami’s favor“It’s something we’ve been working the last few weeks in practice, so we can get Reggie out there in the slot and mismatched on some linebackers,” Thomas said. “There are some different looks we can do.”Can we see Wildcat 2.0 on the horizon?Read more: http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/09/20/2415482/wildcat-20-may-be-in-play-for.html#ixzz1YWguIz9u
