I dont post to much but i hear all this wildcat gimmick to confuse the D. It is kind of true but has become more power running then anything BUT i would like to point out that Defenses work hard (like the Jets, Ravens, Steelers in the 3-4) to confuse the O line and QB to miss blocks for free blitzers or zones for QBs to throw INTs. Is that a Gimmick, the Wildcat puts the same idea but at the D now. Are they going up the gut or kicking outside or hey maybe even throwing it. Just my thoughts. Please add thoughts to that thanks.

I post this in another thread but wanted to get everyones idea thanks.

I've been wondering lately if Ryan and Jets ran their version of the Wildcat just to see how the Dolphins would defend it. I mean, the Dolphins defense sees the Wildcat in practice every other day and maybe the Jets needed a blueprint of how to defend the Wildcat.

It's really sour grapes when they say that because you're right.

The whole purpose of the 46 defense was to overload the line and have more defenders than the offense can deal with.

The wildcat is kind of like the reverse. They want to get at least one guy blocking every defender.

I think the new wrinkles are perfect for dealing with Ryan's D. They didn't even have a QB sometimes and had extre TE's and RB's to block and provide misdirection & confusion.
