Many of you ask why we continue to run the wildcat when it is not nearly effective as it was earlier this year...

The reason is very clear.

We continue to run this formation because in week 17 vs. the Jets we plan on busting out some of those plays you saw vs. the pats in week 4. Im expecting a tedd ginn or ronnie brown pass from that formation. By continuing to run the formation and pound the ball it keeps defenses thinking we will run. We will do the simple 3 yard 4 yard running plays early on and then bust out a couple unique game changing plays that turned this team around early in the season. No point in wasting genius plays vs. the raiders or 49ers.

Come week 17 and fingers crossed (BEYOND...) we will have many trick plays from this formation.

You do realize that we barely beat the Seahawks and the Raiders, right? You realize that if we had lost either game, our season would essentially would be done, right? You realize, should we lose vs SF our season will be over, right?

We better be whipping everything out every week. Also, I have a hard time believeing that this staff is gameplanning for the jets when we don't even play them this week.

i like seeing the conventional offense anyhow. wildcat ran its course, and did well. now we have the confidence to be able to go out and utilize all aspects of our offense. I truly think that most of the guys on the team continue week in and week out to overachieve. what a special team. what a special year this has been. if we lose this week, i'd still be happy. on that note, i hope we continue the trend. its almost like euphoria here for me.

if we stay with just 8 wins on the season, i consider that pretty damned successful. anything else is a bonus.

even with that said, i think we have a legitimate argument as to why we will make the playoffs. draw ur own opinions but i love the way this team has been playing. i just hope they can continue playing at such a high level.

no we're not blowing teams out, but we do just enough to win. man just a year ago, we couldn't win the close games, and this year we are winning way more of them than we are losing.

i like the direction this team is heading, even if we don't make the playoffs. what a difference it makes with the front office that we have. how many teams have such luck?

Perhaps you could maybe share some evidence that supports your opinion!

You would of had an easier time getting me to buy into your theory if you had sometinhg along the lines of You think maybe they have not run new plays out of the wildcat formation because they are in camp practing and learning them. You feel that they may have perfected them by week 17 and you suspect that we may see some new variations when we play the Jets in week 17.

The 49ers game is only important if you think the pats are gonna win out. I personally don't think with the injuries they have that they are gonna win all of there remaining games. They have a BUNCH of players out. If the pats lose any of there remaining games then we only have to worry about staying within one game of the jets and then beat them the last week. The division is gonna come down to that last week. All we have to do is win one of the remaining games before the jets game and if the pats lose just one more game then the jets/fins game will decide if we win the division. If there is one game we can afford to lose it is this week.

As far as blowing out or dominating other teams. The 72 fins won alot of games by a field goal as I recall. No real superstars, just good team chemistry and smart football. Czonka gave us ball controll and basically kept the other team off the field. I never thought of Greise as a great QB, he just didn't make alot of mistakes. The main thing was we won........alot!

In then end.. My opinion is that the wildcat has gotten boring. New wrinkles. New personnel would help dramatically. There you would really be giving the defense something to think about. I can't believe that our OC hasn't been that imaginative yet.
