the wildcat should be put on hold until we can pass the ball like a professional football team. dont getme wrong i love the wildcat but if we cant find away to move the chains w/o the wildcat we will be the mockery of the nfl this year. it just seems like we cant do anything besides ronnie getting the snaps. we really cant run the ball well in a normal formation. also what happened to passing the ball in the wild cat. ive only seen the pass twice this year. i think thats the best option of the wildcat. it seems like last year they would run a few runs w/ the wc and then pass it deep with success. do they not have faith in ronnies arm? obviously they dont have faith in the diamond in the rough (pat white) they stole in the draft.lol

Could care less about Wildcat. I want to develop a superbowl team and the wildcat has been more about figuring out a way to run the ball when your line makes no holes.

I agree that I would love to see this team be able to run or pass the ball without the wildcat, but how has that worked out so far this year when we have better running stats in the wildcat this year then in a regular formation.

If we could pass the ball like a professional team than there would be no need for the Wildcat. Don't you see that. And to reiterate, we can't put the Wilcat on hold beacuse we don't have viable passing game.

Nice avatar, HurriPhin. Let me guess.....you think Henne is a bust already huh?

So skirting the issue by running more wildcat will still leave us deficient in our passing game. The wildcat is a change of pace and no team in college or pros is going to run it as a full time offense so how will we get better passing the ball or even running the ball if we constanly have to line up our two tackles together. Why not move Carey to guard if thats the case since he is essentially that in the wildcat.

It would be silly to think he was a bust after just one half of play..

I think he's been a bust since we've drafted him two years ago.

Draft or sign a QB in the off-season.

Exactly! We needed the gimmick wildcat last year b/c Satele and our backup OGs were getting zero push from the interior OL.

Once we spent the money for Jake Grove and got Smiley and Donald Thomas back healthy, theoretically, we were supposed to be able to get push from the interior and run up the middle - which we are.

So then why do we even need to be using the cat? And why burn an early 2nd rounder on Pat White. I would actually be more satisfied with the Pat White pick if the Trio would just come out and say that they think he can be a real NFL QB and maybe beat out, or at least push, Chad Henne.

But no way should we have used an early 2nd rounder for Pat White if he is really just being brought in for this ridiculous fad of an offensive package.

Look at all the talent on the board in round 2 when we took Pat (we're lucky we didn't miss out on Sean Smith):

Or better yet - we could've used that early round 2 pick (and maybe Ginn) to trade for Boldin or Marshall or Bowe - or as part of a package with Ginn and Ronnie and Penny and maybe Joey Porter to trade for Cutler.

Anyway you slice it, using an early 2nd rounder for a gimmick player to play two or three downs a game just doesn't make sense. Either Pat White becomes an NFL starting QB, or at least an above average backup QB, or that pick is busted.

It's about putting the best talent on the field (running backs) because we dont have a viable passing attack.
