So the preseason is over and naturally we did not see any new wildcat tricks and actually saw very little of the wildcat period. Now i beleive that Henning and Sparano have not decided that they are done with using the wildcat and im pretty sure we will see plenty of it this year. So since it is up to all of our imaginations as to what new wrinkles, schemes, and players will be used in the wildcat i thought it would be fun to hear everyones opinions on this subject. If you have any cool ideas as to what you they Dan has planned or simply what new players will be implemented then post your opinion!

I chose Other.

I will bet last nights dinner that we are going to see several different variants of the Wildcat/spread etc... this year.

Ronnie will run the WC
P.White will run the WC
P.Cobbs will run the WC
And we will see a ton of new variants and formations.

The Trifecta did exactly what they are suppoed to have done with Pat White in the offseason, worked on His QB Skills. But when they closed practices to the public inside the bubble trust me when I tell you they had to have been practicing a bunch of new formations that is going to slowly be unleashed this year.
Im excited. I hope noone was truly disappointed with our offense this preseason, they ran such a freaking vanilla offense that its scary.
Only concern I truly have for our offense is when in the hell is our OL going to finally gell and start opening holes like a multiMillion$ line should.

I choose the "other" option... Combine #2 (The wildcat will be used the same as last year with Ronnie brown in charge), #4 (We will see more of Patrick Cobbs implemented into the Wildcat), and #5 (Ted Ginn will be used more in the Wildcat) IMO is how the wildcat will evolve and honestly, i do not think we will see much of, if any of Pat white this year in any formation.. He did basically nothing to impress me and IMO the coahcing staff, in the preseason aside from 1 decent showing.

everyone's offense is vanilla in preseason

I chose Other as well.

One option that wasn't on there was "the Wild Cat will be used more this season" as opposed to the first option that suggests it will be used less.

By more I don't mean it will take up 50% of our plays, not even 25%. The Wild Cat is likely to be used around 6-10 times per game to keep opponents on there feet. The Fins have had all off season and pre season to think of innovative ways to implement the Wild Cat. We didn't see "WildPat" White run the WC during the pre season, and I'm sure it was for an obvious reason - to keep it on the down low.

Be prepared for crazier, trickier plays coming out of the WC this year. There's a reason why other teams are using it around the league, that's because it has so many variations that can work. I'm confident it will work and be successful throughout the season.

i picked other. we ran basically the same play out of the wildcat last year with a twist here and there. we didn't use a second round pick on someone like white for another backup QB - we used that pick to get more creative with the wildcat. there's gonna be some interesting variations to that play this year - can't wait to unleash them upon the patsies again.

While tempted to go w/ either the White or Ginn option, I went with other. I've stated elsewhere there are numerous options.

The one I like most is; Ronnie and Pat in the backfield w/ Bess or Ginn taking Penny's place.

Another idea... Ronnie and Pat in the backfield w/ Hartline replacing Penny. Bess, Ginn, Cobbs, & Ricky would rotate in the "moving end" position

Opposing D's will need to open a laundry to get rid of all the wrinkles.
