Something that has been mentioned a couple of times is that when Chad Pennington is lined up at WR he does not get the protection a QB normally gets and we worry that another team may take a run at him.

My question is this, Does Ronnie get the Protection that QB's get in the rule books, such as no blows to the head, no tackling below the waist? If he does then I think that would make it very difficult for other teams to tackle Ronnie when he is behind the LOL

I don't think you want Ronnie dropping back in the pocket on a 7 step drop to pass the ball. Or taking it from shotgun and dropping back a tad to look for a pass like a standard QB... Those rules are for QB's in the pocket.

As soon as Ronnie forges ahead for a run, it's fair game.

I think a better question would have been in regards to Pat White. As he is a mobile quarterback who can really move back there.

i have a question too...on nfl network or espn (i forget which one) they said that with the eagles signing vick, they can be very dangerous with both mcnabb and vick on the field together. is that even legal? having two qbs on the field at the same time?

Yes Baltimore ran a play like that last year with Troy Smith and Flacco on the field together

i believe the team roster shows vick as a qb, but the gameday roster can show him as a RB or WR. I think.

You can have 11 of them if they're on the roster.

why do that? you can activate as many QBs as you want for gameday. whether you're listing Vick as QB, RB, WR or whatever, he's still Michael Vick.

he's eligible to play WR or RB even when listed as QB. he has to report to the ref to come in, that's it. actually, i'm not even sure he would have to report.

yeah but smiths number is 10, whereas vick is 7, and rbs and recievers cant wear single digit numbers.

Devin Hester is wearing #23 and he's a WR now. Quentin Moses and Aaron Kampman both wear #74 as LBs. i don't think they've been asked to change jersey numbers yet.

you can move guys around, regardless of jersey numbers. the most people have to do is report to the ref.

nevermind, it was a different rule i was thinking about. it was about activating a 3rd QB before the 4th quarter. if they do that, then the first 2 qb's can't come back in the game.

as long as neither are designated the 3rd string "emergency" QB

What I dont understand is that Ronnie has always been listed as a running back, and could still take the snap. So why not list Pat as a RB?
