Wildcat + Ronnie Brown

I think it partially eliminates the hesitation he used to have. By getting the snap he can make a decision quicker and that split second lets him go. Once he gets going he's like a freight train baby.

That formation has definately improved his visability. The one thing he lacked early in his career. He's just improving period. We just have to hope this new regeim peeks in December because we all remember the 7-0 starts. It's a new mentality here and that's what we needed.

He looks extremely patient and hits the hole perfectly every time. Not having to take the hand off allows him to see the field better early.

Him being a total package...he has great vision, STRENGTH, speed and he is soo good at reacting to a defense. I really does suit him well

I think a big reason is that he doesn't have to rely on a slow QB getting him the ball and like a middle linebacker on defense, he can see the opposing team more clearly while in shotgun and choose his hole quicker and with better foresight as to what cuts he might have to make or if he will need to lower his shoulder.

Basically he can see the defense better from farther back like a scrambling QB might.

I would love to see other players in there like Ginn.

Ginn seems like the player that i might want to take the sweep from that formation but not direct snap because although he is quick, he is also small and I would fear for his durability in that situation and whether he can break the tackles the way Ronnie has to when he lines up back there

This offense is perfect for Ronnie and I have first hand knowledge of why it is. We run this wildcat formation at my highschool and I play the same position. We call it the razorback and we've been doing it for 2 years now. The reason it''s so succesful is because it slows down the defense and it gives ronnie more time to react. When the wr or rb goes in motion the defense has to first read if your going to hand it or fake. This gives the runner an extra step on the D. You then have the chance to throw out of the formation making it even more confusing for defenses. The D is on there heels the whole time and Ronnie is a back that does well when he is coming downhill hitting the hole hard. I know exactly what its like and its a formation that is nearly impossible for the D to stop. Our highschool ran it last year and I put up 1453 yards and 15 tds in 8 games out of it.

its great that it's been working. But it won't keep working. Defenses are going to figure it out as soon as they stop scoffing at it and start taking it seriously.

d is on their heals the whole time? Playing highschol in jersey I used to destroy direct snap teams (half of jersey does that wing crap) and i beat that formation always by my self.. but then again, i was a god

but anyway.

Its like a strech play.. he gets the bll and waits for a hole to develope. It's nothing special.

so so much for you saying its almost impossible. If you actually put up that yardage im sure you put together a highlite tape for a college to look at? i have all mine on tape, let us see you do the play once.

the passes out of it are the tricks

shooting the gap on the weakside is what stops it. Like the strech you need penetration to make the runningback (player with ball) choose where hes going, not allow him to wait around behind a unbalanced line and then shoot a gap. We got some yards today on it, ok however, it was stopped everytime.. and we got the td and a first down from it because it broke down and ronnie made a play.

I do not have a copy of any highlight tapes because Im not playing college football Im playing college lacrosse, however Ill try to find a highlight somewhere.

id prefer to see a self recorded one that might actually show its you. I didnt even bother with that, heh.

really, I just dont care that much. i just watched that formation and played against it for years.. since every shore team ran it or a wing-t which is just going with one reciever and another rb or player etc, just misdirection stuff... gotta shoot your gaps and hold your ground for something coming back your way.
