Ronnie gone. The wildcat is dead. Or is it ?

No wildcat in pratice for the public. Now practice is closed.

Who would take Ronnies spot ? Ricky's end around ?

FACTS : Our new coordinater ran the play a lot with Cribbs in Cleveland.

Several of the new players have experiance including Thomas and Clay.

Reggies speed on the end around would be more dangerous than Ricky.

Almost all team have some form of Wildcat that other teams need to prepare for and I'm sure we will too.

Imagine Long shifts to the right to unbalanced line with Carey and Columbo (good run blocker). Henne shift way out to draw coverage. Thomas , who dances less than Ronnie follows the big boys on the right or hands to Reggie coming around or drops back and hits Marshall across the middle or lofts one up long for #10 who is wide open.

Will lightning strike New England one more time ?

We shall see ..... be gentle guys it's just a thought not explored.

Seriously? For that we should have kept Dan Henning. These wildcat dreams need to stop already. We need to move on from that.

They should have played it backwards: run the wildcat in public practices and the preseason to force NE to prepare for it and then not use it in Week 1. Would be more effective.

Other teams seem to run it......you have to have the right personnel. Our biggest mistake was that our wildcat QB couldn't throw the ball.

Without a credible threat to throw as well...the wildcat is easily stopped.

There is still a chance we see the Wildcat with Reggie taking Ronnie's spot.

I would be surprised to see the wildcat run any time soon also. NOW...if at the end of the day Pryor is a Dolphin, I will rethink that a little bit.

Please god no wildcat, maybe a couple plays all season but c'mon this offense needs all the practice it can get in its regular formations.

Yes....that actually intrigues me. We could use Pryor as a wildcat QB, and continue to develop him as a regular QB. It would be a great way to shake things up.

This is the kind of talent they should have drafted versus Pat White.

Guys it's just a play not an offence.

We all got a terrible taste in our mouth for it because our jack off OC would use in in the middle of a good drive or on the goal line with Ricky throwing a pass.

To me it's just a power running play that gives you an extra blocker with some options for misdirect and open recievers if someone can hit them.

Look we tried to ram the ball in last game from the 2 several times with no success. Should we take that play out of the playbook now and never speak of it again ?

With the right personell and good timing from the OC It may give us another weapon and BELIEVE ME we need all we can get.

The Pryor option is intreging

Wrong! You meant to say "...Ricky's spot". Picture a faster, better pass-catching Ricky. As to RONNIE, and his dancing, and his limited passing ability, D THOMAS played QB in college. I'm sure that the MIAMI Coaching Staff already KNOWS about his QBing skills. Throw in a revitalized MARSHALL and a "burner", and the WILDCAT that N.E. sees will NOT be the one that they've been used to! NO SIR!

I think we are going to do the Wildcat, just for the fact that other teams have to prepare for any possible variation they have seen. Now, the amount of plays will depend upon the effectiveness of them. But I could easily imagine Thomas, Bush, Clay and Gates been involved on it.

Not a fan of the wildcat. but if thats the biggest issue.......

Who ran the wildcat in college....
and
Who was a QUARTERBACK before switching to runningback two years ago....

Daniel Thomas.

I hope the wildcat is dead, but certain puzzle pieces seem to fit.

Daboll used it in cleveland. Albeit because his biggest weapon was Josh Cribbs and he needed ways to get him the ball. But would i be surprised if the wildcat popped up week 1.... not one bit.
