I ma baffled why we went after ernest Wilford so hard paid so much for yrs to come and didnt use him? everybody is asking for a big strong possesion receiver? wilford is 6-5 , huge hands! big strong solid frame . and so i read is a great teamate and good person. (not a t.o. type my point)
WHAT WENT WRONG?
how could this guy not even dress most of the games (healthy) anybody got some inside scoop.
cause he made a lot of money and will continue to make a lot of dolphins money in future. we cant just cut him , no way$$$$$$

I want to get rid of him but I believe we're stuck with him for another year.

See how he does throughout training camp and go from there. I believe the signing bonus for him was huge keeping his roster figure low, therefore having the ability to move him if needed.

I don't care how much you pay a guy, if they don't perform they don't play. No reason to compound the mistake.

I think it spoke volumes about what Sparano & co think of him when he still wasnt getting much playing time even after Camarillo went down.

Wilford disappointed in Practice. Guys like Camarillo, Bess, Ginn and London are all hard workers and were more deserving of getting playing time.

I was very disappointed when I read an interview with him theese days, and when he was asked what he's going to do in the next weeks, he just said; golf season baybee ( or something like that)...

If I were Him, I would practice, practice, practice, and work out all day long, cous right now, I don't see him contributing next year... ( and this is a shame, I had high expectations)....

the worst is, we cannot even trade him, I mean how many catches did he have this season? 3? 25 yards? common...

1. Can't get open
2. Can't play special teams

And yes, we can cut him. The cap hit would be minimal.

In Jacksonville his numbers weren't astronomical because of the offense they run, but what was good was the amount of catches when thrown at and the % of first downs per catch. Everything pointed to him being very productive if given more oppertunities. He got down here and got a case of the drops he couldn't shake that started in pre season, continued on in practice and affected his playing status in games..

They say he can't play special teams. Why? Can't or Won't? I wouldn't be surprised if it was something more to this that we don't know. Motivation, effort, practice habits? Something happened to this guy. You just don't go from average to non-existent in 1 year. The thing I don't understand is this Coaching staff has shown no problem with removing deadwood regardless of who. So It begs the question, why is he still here? And what the hell is wrong with this guy? I think it is a motivation issue. I think the guy probably has an attitude problem. The comment about golf and blaming the coaching staff for lack of opportunity is a red flag. The next question is how did this slip trough the evaluation process.

Despite his big contract, and can't see the front office bringing him back for another year. Waste of a roster space imo. Look for them to try and package him for a late draft pick.

It would be a miracle if we could get something in return for Wilford.

You never know. We got 7th round picks for Josh McCown and Travis Daniels. Even Olindo Mare got us a 6th round pick.

yeah but Ernest produced NOTHING this year, and his a quite big contract for doing so... I have to admit that Tuna seems to use some kind of voodoo when it comes to trades with other teams, ( Fasano and Akin for a 4th round? :D) but I think that trading Wilford is just nearly impossible.

But common Tuna, proove me wrong :)
