Just spoke with an old college friend of mine from Jacksonville. She told me that Ernest Wilford is a lot like Orande Gadsden. Big and
physical with excellent hands. Not much speed but he knows how to use his body and find openings. He's a pretty good weapon in the red zone. He can leap out of the stadium.

I'm ready for football now.

Gadsden had better hands and had a knack for the spectacular one-handed reception.

Wilford has some of that, but isn't quite as sure-handed.

In fact, he was the Virginia Tech receiver that dropped a wide-open catch in the corner of the endzone that would have resulted in a two-point conversion that would have tied the game against the Miami Hurricanes during their last NC run in 2001.

Not saying that's an indictment of catching ability, but it's always fun to sprinkle in a little trivia!

i cant wait 2 see how he does! i think he will pan out just fine. I cant wait for the draft and cant wait for the season. I love my team more than my fiance... but shh... dont tell!!! :winkwink:

He's faster the Gadsden!

You mean she hasn't figured that out already? ;-)

On topic, how is he going over the middle? The thing about Oronde was that he would go somewhere, no matter how the traffic was, and get the jump ball with these huge hands that seemed like they had suction cups on the fingers.

Atleast with the Dolphins you know they'll screw you all season!

Actually, I think Ferrell Edmunds has the biggest hands I've ever seen. He was my AU Basketball coach and I must say, his hands are huge.

Back on topic, my Uncle lives near Jacksonville and said Ernest Wilford is the most underrated free agent aquisition this year. He said Although Ernest isn't a big time name or a burner, he flat out knows how to catch the ball and shield off defenders with his body. He said he's alot like Keyshawn in the way he plays the position.

Hey we have got a little solid depth at a position of need. Wish we had it on the OL as well. The WR position is going to be interesting to if and how we address it this year. We have so many needs not enough picks. Ginn, Wilford and Hagan we can get by with and I expect we will be using the TE alot more and that will be addressed as a need before the WR position. We can also use L Booker as a WR I suppose.

Great!!

I was thinking " = Thompson", as in Derrius.
