The Miami Herald confirms that Ernest Wilford has "started losing" his position with the first-team offense.

Wilford has struggled to separate from defensive backs and Derek Hagan is stepping up. Wilford was also known to drop passes on occasion as a Jaguar. If he's continued that problem, the Dolphins' staff will lose patience.

I have been hearing Wilford has struggle to separate and catch the ball. We might have to take a chance on Glenn after all. Hagan has had his best camp to date, but I hope he doesnt dissapear like in his previous years, and Im really pulling for Bess who has been catching everything his way and running crisp routes. He can also KR & PR, so Im hoping he makes the roster. S

Hagan is Parcells little pet project right now, expect him to excel. I don't know if Hagans playign so well out of fear or encouragement, but its working either way.

Honestly, whenever i hear anything about Hagan it seems Parcells is right there as if pulling on puppet strings.

you know what, this may make hagan our next go to guy like chambers was. i hope hagan beats him out legitimately and wins a starting spot. we need him to step up

huh Wilford is struggling and is 30 years old. Im curious as to why we signed him outside his size.

hes 29, and only started when he was 25, so hes not as beaten down as other 29 yr olds.

I thought Wilford was closer to 26. But, as has been said, he isn't beaten up.

I had lost faith in Hagan, but he has stepped up his game. His big flaw was drops, so if he has improved in that area, he can be a great starter.

Yeah I am concerned as well. I did not exactly do back flips when we signed him but thought he was a decent pick up. No so far apparently.

I'm pretty sure he was brought in for red zone and 3rd down situations because of his size. Being 6'4", it makes it easy for him to out-jump a shorter DB in the back of the end zone. I'm sure Sparano and Henning were expecting Hagan to excel because Parcells and Ireland were high on him since they've been here.

Exactly what I was going to say.

i've said it earlier myself. we didn't bring the guy in to stretch the field. hes big strong and SLOW. as long as he can make some plays in the red zone with his size and make some tough 3rd down grabs in traffic he will have served his purpose imo.

Yea, I definitely agree with this...I've thought since day1 that Wilford would be a poor #2 WR on any team.

When they brought Hagan in originally I remember him getting some comparisons to Chris Chambers, and I always saw some of the similarities in play style at times...Hagan has the play making ability and I always thought he would eventually become a legit receiver for us.

Here's hoping!

If he cant beat out DH in TC he wont be playin any where in the league. BTW your a fool if you use the words beaten down and wr in the same sentence.
That's not true. Hagan has a lot of potential. He was either going to hit this year or bust. It's looking like he's going to come through for us.
