i don't think anyone would get cut, traylor and big daddy would rotate into the nose tackle, they would always be a fresh big body to push the middle, remember that is what you need in a nose tackle and don't forget manny wright could also see some snaps there.
Realistically speaking though one more DL added to the roster means one less DL makes it on the roster...so year, it'll squeeze out SOMEONE.
Zgonina's that underdog guy that you think gets cut every year but he never does. You know why though? Cuz he works hard, he's built like a brick sh!thouse, he's in tip top condition, and he's smart. He's the Kyle Williams of the defensive line...except Kyle's probably a little more athletically gifted.
We kept only 8 DL for about 6 games in 2005. We kept 9 DL for 10 games. We would probably bump that to 9 DL full time. Assuming Big Daddy is not here to replace Traylor (and I really think there's no reason he should), bringing him on board means Carter, Traylor, Holliday, Taylor, Bowens, Roth, Wright, and now Wilkinson are all roster locks. That's 8 men. That leaves one more spot, between Vickerson, Evans, Zgonina, and Fifita.
And, I think Evans would have the inside track for the 9th spot, because of his draft status. We drafted him at the top of the 7th round, above value selections like Rod Wright and Devin Aromashodu. That means we felt there was a higher probability that Evans could be gone by the time we picked again, than the possibility that Wright or Aromashodu would be gone. If we felt like there was another team prepared to select him in the 7th round, then we might be very uncomfortable about the prospect of cutting him and trying to get him to clear waivers. Plus, I think he's a Dan Quinn pick...I think Quinn likes him.
