Now since this past season was his rookie year as a head coach, it made since to call the plays since he accustomed to it. Now with a year under his belt, will he delegate his play calling duties to Clyde?

I'd be shocked too. Working one on one with Tannehill during the game seems to be what drives him. It hasn't affected McCarthy or Sean Peyton from winning a Championship. There's a lot of responsibility on Burke.

I remember hearing him when he was hired saying he doesn't see himself ever giving up play calling.

He seems to enjoy it and it worked for us this season.

I doubt it, and I don't think it would work in his benefit. He's a better coach when he's calling plays, talking to players on the sideline, making adjustments, getting a feel for what the opponent is doing, calling what his players like etc..

Not to mention his connection with Tannehill. He hasn't spent all that time getting to know the way each other sees the field for nothing.

Will one of the nfls elite offensive playcallers call plays?

God i hate the offseason - and it hasnt even started yet.

Besides the stupidity of the idea of gase giving up playcalling, his oc is a gameplanner like philbin not a playcaller.

I remember he said in one of his conferences that he will give it up once he is comfortable with the team. Unless he stated something different, it's not a guarantee that he will continue calling plays for the rest of his head coaching career

With his attitude and temperment? Once he has won 5 rings in a row I guess he might let an assistant call some preseason plays

Gase called a fantastic game this year, alarm bells should be ringing at the idea of him even considering giving it up - especially to clyde.

Correct. He did mention passing on the playcalling should he feel comfortable enough to do so.

“I’ll call the offensive plays,” Gase said. “I’ve been doing it for the last three years. I really enjoy it. I enjoy the aspect of putting the game plan together with the offensive staff. Going into this season, that’s how we’re going to start, with me calling them and then as soon as we can shake through as far as putting the staff together, talking to guys here, if I end up finding the right offensive coordinator and eventually I feel like turning the play-calling over, that’s the direction we’ll head, but as far as right now I will be the play-caller.”

He can say whatever he wants adam gase will be calling the plays

Just like every other offensive innovator head coach

I do agree. He enjoys it too much and wants the game to ride on his shoulders, no one else's, and wouldn't have it any other way.

I was just pointing out that it was said, and it wasn't a stupid question like some others passed it off to be.
