Will Allen Cut

Makes no sense to me. I could see it if he was still banged up, but he looked damn healthy to me the last 2 games.

Chill guys, the new rules is if you have a veteran player on the roster on week one then you have to pay him for the whole year. If we bring Allen or LJ back AFTER week one then is a week to week contract. The FO did the right thing and they might have told both players they'll bring them back after the pats game. They could not take a chance on being stucked with 2 guys that have not played in 2 years....they WOULD have been stucked with those contracts even if they had gotten hurt again.Sure they could be claim by other teams but then those teams would run the risk of getting stuck with those contracts.

Ozzy rules!!

I think the above is a good analysis ... along with the need to get younger after 2 sub-par seasons & another projected!!

I said the same thing in the Larry Johnson thread ... and also believe it applies to Lou Polite. Loved me some Will & Lou!!

They're just not on the 53-man Roster because we have to look to the future. If someone goes on Injured Reserve, we'll sign Will, Lou, or Larry ... high chance they'll still be available. An injury or big problems with coverage or running game ... come on down out of the stands boys!!

You act like it is your money! Guess what we were already under the cap we didn't beef up our onlie! So yaaaaaah Ross adds more money to his mountain of it and very soon Brady makes Sapp look like a Circus Clown!

Do you realize how much the defense will cost us soon?

i see sapp and carrol is where opposing offensive coordinators will target our defense.

will allen came from the opposite end of the field to make a tackle
and that showed me will was back and would make the team..

What this tells me is he's old, and his knees aren't as good as he used to be. They wouldn't cut him if they thought they could still get something significant out of him. I'll say farewell to Will Allen, who was surprisingly decent for a short while here.

Sad to see him go. I remember when we traded Madison for him, I was very upset. He did well here in the years though, if only he had one more shot. I really think a cb tandem of Davis, Smith, Allen would be nasty.

Anyways, we saved some money for something....

on a side note, how much was he making? I'm sure he'd take vets min to stay with us ..... I smell a reunion with the Giants for him, they need corners

The part that sucks is when we use Sean Smith to cover the TE inside W. Allen would be the perfect player to play the outside WR. I like Sapp, but Allen is better suited to cover a #1 or #2 WR
