Will Allen in jeopardy of losing roster spot

Exactly. Same reason you would have kept Penny on the roster. Some guys are just worth a roster spot even if they can't play. Like I said that 53rd isn't that important to get rid of the leadership and teachings Will Allen can bring to the table.

worth a roster spot even if they can't play...lmao

Its probably between Will Allen and Benny Sapp for the last cornerback spot. Davis, Smith, Carroll, and Wilson are all basically guaranteed roster spots

the only thing thats helpin will allen right now is that he restructured and at $1.5 mil its peanuts for a veteran cb...if he was still sittin on $5.5 mil he'd be long history...he's a bargain IF he can play...but you don't save valuable roster spots on your 53 on veteran 33 year old cbs who can't play...

and how long before going into year 4 i believe sean smith and vontae don't need some veteran presence in the lockerroom...it should be now...heck they're veterans pretty much

that 1.5 mil number keeps allen in camp right now...but if he doesn't start making consecutive practices and contributing on the field soon dammit cut weight

I would not bank on Carroll making it unless he steps up. The plus he, Wilson etc have is that they play special teams. Will Allen does not play special teams.

never understood why they wasted money and a roster spot bringing him back.

he wasnt anything before the injury and we drafted cb's back to back in 2009 because he sucked so bad!
...but anyhoo, if this IS true, this is GREAT news and helps a guy like jimmie wilson or philip livas with an open roster spot.

Not a well-thought out post, really. W ALLEN is a "cover" CB, and a very good one. The "OTHER ALLEN" was the one who sucked. But MIAMI had NO ONE better. That's why PARCELLS drafted 2 CBs. That , and also because it was his TECHNIQUE to "DRAFT 2" of whatever position he was trying to bolster. And he has done it often. E.g., HARTLINE was drafted in the 4th Round. Do you remember who was drafted in the 3rd Round that year? (Hint: "bust" out of USC)

IRELAND doesn't do things that way, but PARCELLS did it a lot. Just out of curiosity, do you make up your facts as you go along?

As to J WILSON and P LIVAS, there's room for both, so don't worry: just worry about whether or not they're for real. I, myself, hope so. If anyone should be worrying, it's CULVER, who showed zippo, and PRUITT, who did likewise. Neither (I believe) can be put on the P/S, and besides, they MIGHT NOT EVEN MAKE THE P/S!!! (They showed zippo!!!)

Will Allen is done with all the injuries slowing him down + the old age (injuries making him look even older than his age out there). He's been hurt and done for 2 years now

Cut him loose. He's done.

Cut Tyrone Culver too as he brings nothing to the table and has zero upside.

why worry about culver??? he's an easy cut...makes no plays...he's just there...ever since he got that like 3 year extension 2 years ago he's been meh

as for nolan carroll i want to see how he looks in press man this year...not all this soft off man coverage we played in the preseason opener...get up in someones grill and let me see what you got
