will allen signed because hes healthy now!

And there is your agenda.

i have no "agenda" and mine doesnt matter even if i did. this is a dolphins message board afterall. so what does matter - what is tony sparanos and jeff irelands agenda? are they really that incompetent that they consistently cannot field a team with the best 53 players? they blew it. they know it. they got cute. intended to bring allen in a some point probably all along, but with his injury history they didnt want to guarantee his 1.5 million salary or whatever it was because hes been injured in the past. ive got an idea, how about u stop signing other marginal players with injury histories to ridiculous contracts and u wont have to worry about the guys with small contracts that can help us win?

and these guys have gotten quite a few things wrong personal wise. they threw away ted ginn and he still hasnt been replaced. they had to struggle through an entire year with zero speed on offense to realize how badly its needed. to the point they were forced to use a pick this year just to add speed to the wide receivers. rob nincovich clearly outplayed quentin moses a couple years ago in camp. moses didnt do anything. and he didnt do anything here for 3 years. nincovich consistently got pressure on the qb in that preseason. and he made plays. now hes doing it in new england. he sure as hell is good enough to be part of this team. he beat jake long the other night for a pressure straight up one on one. and he had a huge hit on henne on another play he came off the edge. moses is he even in the league? i didnt see spears plays but judging by the amount of noise i see around here on him i wouldnt be surprised if he ended up doing something.

these guys have just made mistakes. its the little dumb **** they get wrong and its ridiculous to watch. what about the stupid roster churning last year that killed our special teams last year? sticking with bobby carpenter? come on man. get real

I had a feeling they would consider bringing back will allen after week 1 anyway
so they wouldnt have to pay him the 1.5 million guareenteed.
Now they have to pay sapps 1.9 million and will allen lol paying double trying to be cheep..

exactly. thats exactly my point. and it very well might have cost us a game. thats whats lost in this. even reggie bush said its a game and a half cause its a division game. but its more than that. because now they must beat new england in foxboro and that only ties them....that isnt going to happen that loss is ultimately going to put them 2 games behind the pats and behind in the tie breaker - 3 games essentially. whereas if we won that game and lost in foxboro we would be exactly even.

so how big was this game in REALITY???? enough to realistically put us 3 games behind the pats when its all said and done. enough to cost us the playoffs. because they tried to be "cute" play your best 53 *******es. be ready for the pats. plan your offseason for that game. it was handed to them on a silver platter and they were not prepared. and they made poor personal choices to prepare to win this game.

id take a 50 % will allen over a 100 % carrol or sapp

Seriously, you guys want him to say "Yeah, we didn't want to guarantee Will's $1.5M and Sapp was pretty good last year anyways. Now that Sapp sucked and we knee-jerk cut him, Will's our best option?"

It's sort of obvious what happened here, so the very question deserves a BS response.

agreed but how about get it right to begin with? how about just keep ur best 53? why are they not doing everything they can to win that one game? they didnt. and then i guess from there dont lie. no need to act like hes healthy now and thats why hes back. just say were happy will allen is back with us. dont spin it. it was so obvious, and frankly its these little things that cost the guy credibility.

im hopeful this season. i like the new offense, i fear we will we be starting over in the offseason. i just hope ross gets it right. and its hard to have any faith that he will either with his own personal string of botched moves and dumb decisions

They should've still kept Sapp and signed Allen, 6 DB's are the way to go as evidenced Monday night.

I think most people would agree now after seeing NE tear are team apart especially when our two starting DBs were out of the game. Asked in a previous thread what will they regret the most after cuts and most said cutting Will Allen. I don't care about money you should field the best 53 and this FO has really skirted that idea at times in their 4 years. Caroll had no business making the team. I understand he is young but you should make them based on play not potential. Successful franchises do this (NO keeping Pierre Thomas when he was undrafted over 4th rounder Antonio Pittman)

this thread is stupid.

Good Job. I feel smarter.

Why can't we trade for a proven CB like Asante Samuel, a guy who has been to the pro bowl and can make impact plays that can turn a game around in our favor.

If I am Jeff Ireland...I would be on the phone with the Eagles and see what the asking price is for Samuel...I would first off Nolan Carrol and a 3rd round pick next year.

Not necessarily true. If SAPP gets picked up by another team, whatever THAT team pays him reduces what MIAMI has to pay.

BOTH CJ and W ALLEN were cut w/the intent to get them back after Game One, so as to eliminate their GUARANTEED MONEY status. DT's hamstring foiled half of that business-motivated move. The other half actually will work, IF some other team picks up SAPP. So, if this was done so as to prevent "cap" hell/save a little capspace and then pick up a solid but aging C or G w/talent and some gas left in his tank, then I say "fine". (After all, NO ONE could've anticipated everything that went wrong against the PATRIOTS. THAT takes a Higher Intelligence than any of us.) BUT IF MIAMI TOOK THE CJ/W ALLEN GAMBLE just to give ROSS some $$$ "insurance"/security, against injuries to players w/guaranteed money, then I say f**k all of them.
