will allen signed because hes healthy now!

I like will allen. he will play better than sapp 100% therefore our team got better.

Let me get this straight; You expect that Sparano is going to lay out exactly what is going on
and the reasoning behind everything?

Guy must think everybody is as ignorant as him. I could have sworn Allen played vs the Cowboys. Hmm doesn't make sense and when something doesn't make sense its usually not true. Just admit you made a mistake, be a man. It wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Not necessarily true. If SAPP gets picked up by another team, whatever THAT team pays him reduces what MIAMI has to pay.

BOTH CJ and W ALLEN were cut w/the intent to get them back after Game One, so as to eliminate their GUARANTEED MONEY status. DT's hamstring foiled half of that business-motivated move. The other half actually will work, IF some other team picks up SAPP. So, if this was done so as to prevent "cap" hell/save a little capspace and then pick up a solid but aging C or G w/talent and some gas left in his tank, then I say "fine". (After all, NO ONE could've anticipated everything that went wrong against the PATRIOTS. THAT takes a Higher Intelligence than any of us.) BUT IF MIAMI TOOK THE CJ/W ALLEN GAMBLE just to give ROSS some $$$ "insurance"/security, against injuries to players w/guaranteed money, then I say f**k all of them.

This, bolded above ...

This is both about football & rules to know what & why its happening!!

The FO thought they could get over & slip by a game or so, but it bit them in the behind!! Probably also figured Allen is dinged & can't last 16 games ... so this story is To Be Continued.

However ... the problem looks much deeper than Sapp & Allen ... Ireland & co. sure didn't do much in Free Agency, on both sides of the ball!! A few injuries & we'll wish we had shaky Sapp back.

Why is the OP laughing at the notion that a player can recover from an injury in 12 days?

You started a thread with a misleading title to get a reaction from the masses you wanted. So thread is stupid but hey you completed your agenda!

u make no sense. sparano is the one with the agenda here. is that so hard to get? yeah yeah we get it tony. u picked the right guy. we get it. yep u had no choice. cause will allen played so poorly against dallas, and actually played the ball. performed when he HAD to. he showed u nothing. i get it. he was injured. and ur boy benny who has been a liability which is why minnesota traded him to u was healthy enough to play. but now miraculously ten days later, now that will allen is ok to play.....its time to bring him in!

garbage!!!

just say u ****ed up!!! cause thats the truth! and there is no way to spin it....even tho u just tried!!! everybody in here wanted will allen over benny sapp. except for maybe u dude because u keep trying to say something about this when ur point doesnt even have merit. wait there was no point.

sparano is the one with the agenda - save his *** - aint gonna happen

correct. i also wonder why after nate jones played very well in the nickel for us the year before was he not brought to camp last year? and we tried to plug the leak at the end of training came by trading for sapp cause we had no nickel back? which we failed to address again this offseason for god only knows what ridiculous reason.

well LJs contract isnt guaranteed so thats not correct. and who couldnt see this coming? seriously? have u seen those tight ends new england has? and they thought they would match benny sapp on those guys? 5'8" benny sapp? seriously? man if they couldnt see this coming (obviously they couldnt) they really are dumber than we all thought. cause there is no way in hell benny sapp matches up with those guys. and what if we lost one corner in the game? (which we did) we had no contingency plan for THAT offense? that is just flat out unforgivable

everything this offseason should have been focused on winning THAT game and THAT game alone. all roster decisions should have been focused solely on winning that matchup. their failure to recognize this is a clear sign of their ineptitude as a staff and front office. and thats the bottom line.

I think they thought they could get by without will allen
and plug in the young buck carrol and sapp for one game.
They probably expected burnet to be the x factor in locking down the tightends with dansby.
Or they already wrote this game off as a lose..
which is worse poor planning?
or making the roster a bit weaker for one week to save a half a million dollars?
we might have seen more fight out of aj edds and spears..
Also would have preferred jimmy wilson play more ..

thats exactly what they were thinking. i have no doubt in my mind they intended to bring back will allen at some point, or considered it a strong possibility. but if hes good enough to play, i just dont get ****ing around with the roster like this and not fielding the best team week one. they THINK they were thinking long term with big picture in mind. in reality the were doing the exact opposite and their thinking was short sighted.

u gotta win that game if u are going to compete. the ravens CLEARLY understood this as an organization. we on the other hand did not. guess thats why they end up in the playoffs every year and we sit home (unless they are actually beating us in the playoffs - when we luck our way in).

nothing to worry about this year. we very likely already sealed our fate already with poor choices

the absurdsity to think that the plan all along was to resign allen, They kept sapp over Allen no money savings in this move in fct they could have kept both no problem. No other teams reportedly offered him a contract which is slightly scary. Always like will Allen but do admit its likely he isnt same player after injuries

well if thats an absurb idea. better catch up bud. talk to some gms. cause it absolutely happens with veterans. they get brought in all the time AFTER week 1 to fill rosters, specifically so their pay check is not guaranteed.

and no ur incorrect. according to tony the way they constructed the roster they couldnt keep both. sapp and allen were competing directly for that nickel job. they kept the wrong guy, and they had a whole year of tape to tell them - they should have KNOWN they had the wrong guy. just unacceptable. in fact its unacceptable they didnt retain nate jones the previous year because he played well for us, and it left a hole. we made zero attempt to add anything to the secondary in the offseason, and it was a mistake.

after they kept the wrong guy, tony tried to spin this, like will allen is healthier now than he was 10 days ago. and therefore, thats why hes here now. its just a joke. man up - u kept the wrong guy and he got exposed. but if they didnt see this coming (which they didnt laughably) thats pretty pathetic. sapp just too small to match up with the pats inside, and his ball skills arent good enough.
