Do you guys think Will Allen will recover and return to the Dolphins next year? And if so how do you think he will he contribute, will he start once again? Just think about our injury situation and wondering everyone's thoughts.

I don't think he would make the switch to safety. But he would take over Smith's job if he doesn't drastically improve.

Yeah that was more like what I was thinking. I think there is obviously room for him as a cb on this team I was just thinking about how that affect the young guys if he becomes healthy again. Vontae is solid but I wonder if he would end up beating out Smith. Vontae and Allen wouldn't be bad. Sucks though that Smith has kind of fallen off in production. I remember in training camp it was a whole different story and there were people questioning Vontae's productivity.

He will be a Dolphin for sure. He has $10 million guaranteed through 2011. Thats a huge cap hit to cut him. If we wouldnt cut Wilford for a 4 million cap hit, why would we cut Will Allen? If hes not ready, he will be on IR or PUP for 2010.

If it is an uncapped year we can cut him and not take a salary cap hit. Don't totally hold me to this I'm not totally clear on the uncapped year rules or situation this is just something I looked up. With the way most teams have 3 good receivers and run many 3 wr sets I would definetly want him back. Your nickle cb is just as important as your starters. But that theory got us in trouble dave wann with the Jamar Fletcher pick. lol

i say good riddance to will, i have see enough of him in a fins uni.

Will was instrumental in helping these rookie CB's develop so quickly. He is also a solid CB . . . I never thought of him as a #1, but he did it as good as to be expected of him. With him back, I think CB has slowly become one of the strengths of the team, along with DE. He definitely should be back.

Worse comes to worse, u MUCH rather have Will Allen in the slot than Nate Jones. To me the wildcard is Jason Allen . . . we all call him a bust . . . but he plays well on Sunday's and is our special teams ace . . . it will be interesting to see if he is back next year. He still has like 2 years left on the contract. He obviously probably hasn't reached any escalators . . . so maybe it wont be as bad.

If he's back I would think he'd replace VD because Smith cant be nickle.

it all sounds good but im tired of seeing him on the ground or chasing the receiver into the endzone on just about all of the big plays thrown on us. i know smith has had a lot to but hes a rookie and its expected. i just dont see will being a show stopper on our super bowl team.
