For the last month or so, I was the only one that I know of that had brought up the scenario that we would draft Ryan and trade Beck for a 3rd rounder but I was just reading an interview by Frank Coyle and Packers fans and he suggested the same possibility (sans the 3rd rounder). Its only speculation on his part and its just one sentence but the guy does have good contacts in the NFL. Wonder what his contacts have told him. Here is the sentence

From Frank Coyle
No need to panic over a QB Rodgers should be fine. Several young vets are on the trading block Simms, Losman and maybe Beck.

BTW, His latest mock has us drafting Ryan, Malcolm Kelly and Martellus Bennett

smh. understand you absolutely love Ryan, but theres no chance beck gets traded.

if we draft Ryan and get a 3rd for Beck why not? Someone like Baltimore, Tampa, Carolina might be up for it and we get to draft another prospect

It would take weeks for the smile to come off my face if this scenerio played out.

Why would any team trade something for Beck?

well lets look at cameron and the ravens. I seem to recall cameron bringing in tons of guys that were familiar with his offensive system when he was here, Camarillo, Green, Peele, Chatman. Beck is more familiar with a cameron offense then any other Ravens players and he might be seen as a bargain to Cam if he can get him for a 3rd instead of spending a 1st or 2nd on Brohm, Henne or Flacco

I had predicted that we would start hearing isolated rumors this week just before the draft that Ryan may be in consideration. I think this is the first example of that. The guy has great contacts in the NFL. To make Ryan the pick after all the Jake Long and Gholston stuff of the last week is pretty interesting

Cam would probably get shot down by the FO.

Also, it would be pretty foolish to trade away Beck, whom we took with a 2nd round pick, for a 3rd round pick.

Im hoping youre right buddy.

I sensed he would be the pick a couple months ago and just started truly doubting it this last week. But, it certainly isnt uncommon for the initial thoughts from Feb. that analysts have be the right ones and then seeing those fade out only to come back to the front about a week before the draft. Happens all the time.

I dont think its been a secret that we badly need a franchise QB. Thats why initially when draft talk began that most experts had us selecting Ryan. Since then there has been alot of information thrown out there, and you have to wonder which or how much was really true and how much of it has factored into people changing their minds on who will be the picks made by each team.

Could very well be that Ryan was our guy all along. We wont be waiting much longer to find out.

Yea. Thats a big blow. Spending a 2nd rounder and getting a 3rd in return for it the next year. Thats the kind of thing that can set a franchise beck, I mean back for decades.

Thats gotta be right up there with continuing to pass on franchise QBs early in the draft and giving up picks in later rounds year after year for retreads and spending picks beyond round 1 for rookie QBs that never play well.

Those 2 things are probably right online as the top two ways to bringing your franchise down for years.

Continue grasping guys. It's entertaining. And all based on one person's speculation.
